One Week Later
Albuquerque, New Mexico
East High School
The school was full of activity. Students were mingling and discussing their vacations. Chad and Zeke were having a friendly game of 1-on-1.
Troy and Veronica got out of the school bus and were immediately greeted by their fellow teammates and cheerleaders.
"Troy! How ya doing, man?" Chad asked his best friend.
"Hey, Chad, what's up?" Troy asked in return.
"Hey, guys, Happy New Year," Veronica said to everybody.
The cheerleaders cheered.
"Yeah, it's a Happy Wildcat New Year!" Chad exclaimed.
"You're the man!" Jason told Troy.
"Veronica!" One cheerleader, Lola hugged her.

"In two weeks we're going to the championships with you leading us to infinity and beyond," Chad told Troy.
"And we need to make up a new cheer something that's mind-blowing." Another cheerleader, Lily told Veronica.

"What team?" Chad asked
"Wildcats!" The basketball team and cheerleaders screamed.
"What team?" Chad asked again.
"Wildcats!" They screamed once again.

Inside East High School, Sharpay Evans and her brother Ryan strut their way through the crowded hallways.
"Ooh! Whoo-hoo!" A kid admired them.
Sharpay walked past the entire Wildcat team, making them get out of her way.
"Ohh." All the boys eyed her.
"Veronica!" Ryan noticed her.
"Ryan! Hey!" She exclaimed.
They hugged.
"You know each other?" Sharpay asked in disgust
"As in you're on a talking basis?" Lola asked in disgust.
"Yeah, we met at this party-" Veronica began.
"I'm bored," Sharpay said and walked off.
"Ignore her," Ryan told Veronica.
"I always do." She told him.
"Ryan!" She yelled
"I have to go," Ryan told her and left.
"Bye." She smiled.
"The Ice Princess returned from the North Pole," Zeke remarked.
"You know, she probably spent the holidays the way she always does," Chad said.
"How's that?" Troy asked.
"Shopping for mirrors." He joked.
"Ooh!" All the teammates screamed.
The Wildcats and the cheerleaders laughed at Chad's joke.
"What about her brother?" Veronica asked.
"The theatre dork?" Chad questioned.
"He's not a theatre dork!" Veronica yelled.
"Yee-oo! You need to calm down V." Chad told her.
"Do you have feelings for-" Lily began.
"Maybe I do," Veronica told her.
"Oh V. Sweet innocent stupid little V," Lola said as all the cheerleaders hugged her.
"Why am I stupid?" Veronica asked looking kind of offended.
"Because you fall for stupid people," Lola told her.
Veronica rolled her eyes and the squad laughed as they passed Taylor McKessie and her science posse.
"Ugh, behold the zoo animals heralding the new year. How tribal." She mocked them.
The bell rang. _______________________________________
At the same time, Gabriella, her mother, and Principal Matsui were walking along another part of the school discussing Gabriella's first day of school.
"Mom, my stomach-" Gabriella began.
"It's always nervous on the first day at a new school. You'll do great. You always do, and I made my company promise that I can't be transferred again until you graduate." She told her.
"I reviewed your impressive transcripts. I expect your light will shine very brightly here at East High." Principle Matsui told them.
"I don't wanna be the school's freaky genius girl again." She told her mother.
"Just be Gabriella." Her mother told her.
Miss Montez kissed Gabriella on the forehead.
"This way." Principle Matsui took Gabriella away from her mother.
Mrs. Montez waved goodbye to her daughter as Gabriella made her way up a flight of stairs with Principle Matsui. _______________________________________ Sorry for any errors...
