Gaara vs Lee

~Shadow clones pov~

"Gaara.. and Lee.." I muttered, crossing my arms. Kankuro had walked past me and began talking to Naruto. He looked at me, but I was happy the shadow from the pillar I stood next to covered some of my face. Besides, no one would expect me to still look like I did 6 years ago, and they were all pretty young when I left so they most likely won't remember my face. Just in case, I pulled my collar up and covered up to my mouth and watched the fight.

I turned and looked at Kakashi. A memory flooded into my head from a few shadow clones from a while ago. I stepped closer to the railing to see more of the fight. I watched Gaara's sand as it protected him from Lee's attacks. "His absolute defense is better than before." I thought smiling watching him fight. I thought of Gaara as my own brother since he and Naruto were almost the same age, just months apart.

I moved over to stand next to Kakashi, Guy and Sakura. "He's ridiculously fast, just like you, Guy-san." I said looking at him and Guy just smiled and gave me a thumbs up.

"He can get even faster. Lee! Take them off!" He yelled out with a thumbs up.

"B-but Guy sensei, you told me to do that to protect a large group of very important people!" Lee said with a salute.

Lee then showed the weights on his legs. He then let them go, making a huge crash into the ground as if a bomb had gone off. "A bit extreme, I'd say.. Guy." Kakashi said.

"Let's go, Lee!" Guy said and I watched as Lee started to break through Gaara's sand.

"This is bad.." I muttered as Lee kicked Gaara from above, scaring his face.

"Youth is.... explosion!" Guy yelled and I unconsciously moved away from Guy. Lee punched Gaara in the face. I winced as Gaara slowly stood up. Sand was pouring out from his gourd and I gripped the railing.

"Sand armor..." I noticed Gaara had a freaky smile on his face. The sand stuck to his body again and his face turned stoic and his arms got crossed.

Lee unwrapped the bandages on his arms and started kicking Gaara into the air to do the lotus. I watched as the smoke cleared, showing Gaara in the ground, cracked all over. "Humans don't crack, that's sand." I muttered as he began to fall apart and turn into more sand. 

"When did he! .. That's not possible!" Guy said looking at Gaara's sand body crumbling away.

"While you were praying with your eyes closed." I said to Guy, keeping my eyes on the fight.

"Huh?" Guy looked at me.

"For a moment, Lee stopped moving because of the pain in his body." I said.

Gaara came up from behind Lee, in a very scary way. I caught Gaara's eyes and they were demon like. Lee had trouble getting up, and Gaara didn't hold back. Lee was thrown and pushed and hit with sand repeatedly left and right.

~flashback~

"Gaara! Come here!" Lord Kazekage said and the young boy looked up at me.

"Hello.." he said quietly. I smiled and kneeled down to his height, reaching a hand out. He flinched and I waited for him to come to me. He relaxed and slowly came closer and I pet his hair.

"Hi Gaara, I'm (Y/n). It's nice to meet you." I said quietly and he hid his face in his bear with a small nod of acknowledgement.

"Gaara, she'll be taking care of you with Yashamaru." Lord Kazekage said.

"Okay.." he said softly.

"Do you have any games we can play?" I asked as we walked further into the house.

"N-no..." he mumbled and I sat down on the floor next to him.

"Well then, let's make up a game." I said and he smiled and nodded with a small blush.

The night, I looked at a picture of mom and dad and smiled ghosting my thumb over their faces. "I'll be home before you know it... mom, dad, Naruto..." I smiled sadly and put the picture away. 

"(Y/n)-nee..." I turned and saw Gaara by my door with his bear, and tears in his eyes.

"Yeah?" I asked, sitting up on my bed and motioned him in.

"Can I stay with you... I can't sleep..." he said and I pat the space next to me and he slowly climbed into my bed. I let him get comfortable before pulling the blanket up to his chin and slowly patting him to let him fall asleep, shortly after I heard soft snores.

I woke up that morning to Gaara still sleeping. It was getting late, so I shook him awake. He slowly opened his eyes and looked up at me happily.

"Good Morning sleepy head." I teased and he laughed softly and we played with his uncle that day.

~present time~

"This is going to be interesting..." I said and kept my eyes on Gaara, ignoring what the others were talking about.

"Above!" I heard someone say.

"Where'e Lee?" another asked.

I flinched seeing Lee kick Gaara repeatedly. I felt a hand on my shoulder and I knew it was Kakashi. "Gaara!" I couldn't help but yell when I saw Lee punch him in the stomach. Kakashi pulled me back and covered my eyes from the dust and rubble that flew up. I watched as Gaara's gourd turned to sand and catch him before he crashed into the ground.

I saw Gaara move his hand and the sand moved towards Lee, and he couldn't move to dodge it. The sand wrapped around Lee's left arm and leg. Then it seemed to have crushed it and Lee screamed in pain.

Lee fell to the ground, and I saw the sand move again. I couldn't help but jump forward as did Guy. I looked at Gaara and he was looking at Guy. "Why?" Gaara asked. "Why.. save him?"

"He is.. an important subordinate I care for." Guy said.

"You..." I turned to Gaara. He then turned his back to us and his sand reformed his gourd. "I quit." he said walking away.

"The winner, Ga-" Hayate stopped. I turned and saw that Lee had stood up.

"What the hell.." I mumbled and looked at him, up and down looking at the damage. I noticed Lee's eyes. "Unconscious." I muttered.

"The winner, Gaara!" Hayate announced. I looked at Gaara as he walked away.

Naruto ran down and I moved aside for the medical team. "Hey, can you heal him?" I looked at Naruto and he was looking at me.

"I don't know how to fix things like broken bones, I can only mend flesh wounds and fix torn muscles." I said shaking my head. I then went back up to the second level standing next to Sakura and she looked at me.

"How is he?" she asked.

"His injuries.. other than the obvious ones... his bones are crushed, his muscles are torn... I honestly don't know if he can continue being a ninja with those injuries.." I said quietly and she looked back at him.
