For the next couple of weeks I was busy tryna make sure I finished all of my work for school before Christmas break. Between havin a new job, and school I really havent had time for anything else except for Tae only when were at home together. Oh yea, Lloyd got me a job at walmart that I dont really like but hey they pay alright so whatever. Tae had got a job workin at finishline, but I dont see how he even made time for that with not only school but basketball practice too. We both thought it would be a goog idea to get jobs before jumping into the whole apartment thing. I mean how can u pay rent with no rent money? Other than that everything been cool the only thing bothering me is that I havent seen Quan since that day I went to his dorm. I've called to check on him a few times, but its like it goes straight to voicemail or something. When ever I try to talk to L about it he is always to busy to talk, but today im not goin for that shit. I waited by the door of my first class to make sure he wouldnt have an excuse to rush off this time. When he saw me he smiled, but it went away quickly which confused me.
Yatta: Wussup L.
L: Whats good wit u Kenny.
Yatta: Nothin other than the fact that I been tryna talk to u for over a week, but u keep avoidin me.
L: My bad.(he laughed)
Yatta: Have u heard from Quan lately?
He looked at me for a second like he was debating on answering my question.
L: Aye come on we about to be late.(he said tryna walk past me but I stopped him)
Yatta: LaDarius forreal man tell me whats goin on is he ok?(I asked worried)
L: Yea he good.(he said reassuring me)
Yatta: Ok so what the fuck? Why has he been ghost for the past two weeks?(I asked wit an attitude)
He took a deep breath before sighing very heavy clearly troubled by what he was about to tell me.
L: Man I really didnt wanna be the one to tell u this.
Yatta: Come on L just tell me whats goin on.
L: Iight the truth is...Quan transferred back to the city.
Yatta: HE WHAT!? Why he didnt tell me he was leaving, and is everything ok? Whenever I call his phone it says the number is no longer in service.
L: He said he needed a change of scenery.
Yatta: Ok. Well have u talked to him?
L: Yea I talked to him this mornin.
Yatta: So whats his number.(I said pullin out my phone)
L: I cant give it to u Kenny.
Yatta: Why not?(I asked confused)
L: H...He asked me not to. Kenny he left to get away from u. He told me everything up until the last time he saw u, and honestly I've NEVER seen Quan like this. The nigga was a complete wreck im talkin bout cryin so hard he could barely talk. It took me forever to get him to calm down when he first got to my crib. He thought it would be better for him, and u if yall wasnt around eachother.
Yatta: So he just left.(I said lookin at him in disbelief)
L: I know its hard to believe, but dont look so sad about it. I mean that is what u wanted right?
Yatta: I..um...just tell him I asked about him.(I said walkin off)
L: Kenny wait up man dont let this ruin yo day. He just doin what he think is best for the situation.
Yatta: Im ok L really. Just a little shocked thats all.
L: I know I was too when he told me everything.
Yatta: I bet u were.
L: Aye I aint comin on to u or nothin so dont trip, but u gettin thick as hell. Tae must be feedin yo ass good, but u better slow down or u gone be fat.(he laughed)
Yatta: Shut up stupid.(I laughed) U think im gettin big forreal?
L: Hell yea yo skinny ass aint never had this much belly.(he said touching my stomach)
I hesitated for a second thinking if I should tell him or not, but figure I might as well since he is my friend.
Yatta: What if...Nevermind.
L: I hate when people do that Kenny u know that.
Yatta: Its nothin really just forget it.
L: Dude we use to go together so I know u lyin.(he laugh)
Yatta: Iight but this might sound crazy.
L: Okay...
Yatta: Would u believe me if I told u I was pregnant.
L: Quan already told me I just wanted to see if u would.(he smiled)
Yatta: Then get yo ass off of me nigga gone call me fat.(I said wit an attitude smackin his hand away and walkin off)
L: I was just playin man chill out.(he laughed following me)
