Chapter 33

She walked up the few steps to her front door, it'd been so long since she's been home, had year passed already?

She tugged at the hood around her face that was concealing her identity as a nervous tick.

After standing there contemplating just sneaking into the castle without visiting for a few moments she shook her head and took a deep breath to steady her nerves

She reached out and nocked

She pulled her hand back quickly fearing who who open the door and not remember her

The door opened..

"Terr..?" Her older sister Maggie asked in shock as their eyes met, "Terrance! You're alive!" Maggie exclaimed. A smile bigger than life rose to her face as she pulled Terrance into her arms

Terrance smiled and melted into her sister's embrace, relief walking through her

After a long hug, Maggie pulled back but kept her hand on terrance's shoulders while looking her up and down

"We assumed you dyed, you just disappeared.. But I'm glad you're home now! MOM!" Maggie yelled

Their mom rushed to the door

"Terrance? My baby girl is home!" She exclaimed while pulling terr into a bear hug of her own

Terrance giggled a little

Her mom stepped back to look her up and down

"You've grown up so much this last year!" She said

"Yeah.." Terrance said shrugging, "I've been through a lot, where's dad?"

Maggie and mom's face both shrank from over joyed to sober

"You should come inside dear" mom said

Terrance stepped inside and Maggie closed the door behind her

"After your brother died you father was forced to take his place in the army, at his age, he didn't make it.. It's been just Maggie and I.." She explained

Terrance's heart sank, she didn't consider the effect her absence would have on her mom and sister, they thought they lost everyone but each other in just a few months..

"But you're home now, that's all that matters." Mom said, a small smile rising to her mouth

"Where've you been anyways?" Maggie asked

"The forbidden lands."

"What!?" Mom and Maggie yelled in unison, "you could have been killed, FOOLISH girl" her mom scolded

"But mom, I'm the true dragon heir, I met and bonded with my dragon, jedimie, fell in love and am engaged to the elve's prince, Avani," she said pulling down her hood to reveal her crown, "AND I gained the support from all 8 magical kingdoms!" Terrance tried to explain

It was awkward silence for a minute before mom slapped Terrance across her face

"Blasphemy, don't talk like this!" Her mother exclaimed, "take off that silly crown!"

Terrance looked at the floor to avoid her mother's scornful glare, she was confused and shocked by the lack of support

"You're saying we went through hell and misery this year while you were out falling in love and having a magical adventure? No." Maggie said crossing her arms

Terrance slowly reached up, took off her crown and secured it with her belt going through it and holding it against her hip, covered by her robe, she sighed

"There's a war coming very soon though guys, I want you to be prepared.." Terrance said softly, looking back up

Her mom rolled her eyes

There was a knock at the door behind them

"Whoever it is, don't speak of such crazy nonsense!" Her mom hissed before opening the door

A few knights stood there

"A few castle spys of the kind saw lady Terrance reenter the kingdom, he would be delighted if you'd allow us to escort you to his table for an early dinner?" The knight asked

"Why of course!" Mom answered delighted while doing a quick, respectful curtsy

The knight before turning to lead them

All three women filled the Knights to the castle

Hey lovelies!!!! I just want check in and update you. I think there'll be 6 chapter that I have planned left, then I'll go in and start editing. I hope to completely finish this story with in a this week, thank you for all who have read this far and another special thanks to those who have voted and commented!
