The Knights lead them as they were through the castle and into the royal dinning room. Around the table prince Davis, and Samuel already sat casually. The Knights seated the three ladies, then the king and queen strolled in, walking with poise and confidence. They were seated with small head bows around the table in respect
"Miriam, thank you for coming on such short notice, I must say, even without your best dresses on you three look raveshing" the King complimented with fake politeness
"Why thank you your majesty, as do you!" Terrance's mother cooed
Maggie just sat with a smile
"Dear, won't you take off your hooded robe?" The queen asked, hinting at her casualness
"If it's all the same with the king and queen, I'd rather keep it on." Terrance said with a fake smile
The queen tried to hide that she was taken aback at the rejection by nodding after hesitatingly
Terrance flinched slightly as her mother kicked her under the table.
The waiters began carrying out the appetizers and placing them in front of the consumers
"Well, I don't know about you," prince Davis started, looking briefly to Samuel, "but I'm very curious to know where Terrance has spent the last year!" He said genuinely curious
"Yes, do tell" the king said, arching an eye brow
Terrance's mother glared at her as a warning to say the right thing
Terrance folded her hands in her lap, straightened up her posture, and smiled in preparation
She looked to the king again for permission
He nodded
"The forbidden lands." She said simply, a grin rising to her face as the queen gasped
"Why on earth would you go there?" The prince asked, curiosity spiraling
"Oh you know, brother being murdered in front of me and all, seemed more trust worthy in the unknown and unruled land than in the land where my authority betrayed my family." She smiled sarcastically
Her mother kicked again under the table, harder this time
Terrance casually turned to look at her mother, "excuse me mother, would you like me to scoot over a bit? My legs seem to be in your foot space."
Her mother's cheeks flushed red of embarrassment as she looked away
Maggie smiled slightly, finding humor in the situation
"I understand, perhaps we can rebuild our trust, after all, what's a king without the trust and loyalty of his kingdom?" The king said
"I agree" Terrance said nodding, "say, king, what kind of stone is that?" She asked with fake curiosity referring to the necklace he was wearing
"Oh! I'm glad you asked! It's a rare moon stone." He said
"May I look at it? It's beautiful" she said
"Certainly" he said taking it off and handing it to her
She picked it up and stood up. Her smiled melted away and was replaced by a sinister smirk
"That's odd" she said
"What's that?" The king asked
She pulled her 8 moon stones out from under her hood and her crown off her belt,
"I have 8 necklaces just like it, and the elvish crown made for the completed moonstone" she said smirking up
He stood up slowly, in slow motion as he digested what was happening
She put her crown back on her head and joined his necklace with all her's
"Dad? What's happening?" The prince asked
"I'm the true heir to the throne is what's happening and your family stole the kingdom from mine hundreds of years ago and trapped the other 8 kingdoms in the forbidden lands." She said without looking away from the king
"Even if you make it out of the castle you can't bind them together in time before getting caught, it's daylight!" The king exclaimed angrily
"That didn't stop the sun stone from bonding my dragon and I in the night" Terrance said, she winked at the king then took off running
