*casually skips two days in time*
"How is it so sunny?" Dan whined.
"Stop complaining! You told me it was too cold back in England, and now it's sunny you're still moaning!"
"True, but still."
Phil raised his eyebrows and Dan linked their hands, smiling innocently. "So. What are we doing today?"
They'd spent the entire previous day swimming in the sea, and laying on the beach talking, and Dan wanted something more fast paced today, and something that involved less... Movement.
"How about... More swimming?"
Dan rolled his eyes. "I've swum enough for a long time, thanks."
Phil smiled fondly at him. "Ok. Shall we go walking?"
"Effort, Phil. Not happening."
Phil elbowed him. "You're so lazy."
Dan wound his arm around Phil and smiled into his eyes. "You'll realise how great that is one day."
It was Phil's turn to roll his eyes now, but Dan accepted it with grace.
Phil looked around for inspiration, and saw a boat pulling smoothly into the harbour. "A boat trip!"
"That's... actually a pretty good idea," Dan said, surprised.
"Shall we go down to the pier and see how much it is?"
Dan nodded enthusiastically and Phil laughed. "Ok then."
They walked hand in hand down to the pier, where the Queen Anne was waiting in the harbour. A sign hung off the side of it.
"Twenty quid? Not bad," Dan said. "Are we going for it?"
Phil nodded. "We're going for it."
They grinned at one another and strolled towards the ticket booth. "Where does the trip go?" Dan asked the woman who was sitting there looking bored.
"Round the island and then out further into the water to see the reef. You want tickets?" she asked.
"Yes please," Phil told her, beaming. "How much?"
"Forty pounds for two adult tickets."
Dan handed the money over and she gave him two slips of paper. He pocketed them. "Thanks."
"You can board now," she told them and they nodded, thanked her again, and set off towards the boat.
"This is pretty cool, huh?"
Phil nodded in agreement. "I've not really been on boats before, if I'm honest."
"What do you mean by that?"
"I mean, whenever I go on holiday, I don't go on boats."
"When was the last time you went on one?"
"About seven years ago, I'd guess."
"My gosh. You've been deprived."
Phil nodded, laughing. "So yeah. This is a first - actually, about a ninth - for me."
"And you're spending it with me. How wonderful."
"I think that was sarcastic, but I completely agree. It's pretty great."
Phil elbowed him, and Dan grabbed his hand and gripped it tightly. "Let's do this thing."
