He tried to push himself up, but he was too weak.
A nurse came over to him and lifted him into a sitting position. She gave him a glass of water.
He put the water on his bedside table.
"Where is he?"
"Where is who?" the nurse asked kindly.
"Dan."
She didn't answer.
