Don't need those other numbers when I got my number one.

Mingyu was never good with jokes. From childhood, he had tried to make knock knock jokes and small one liners work on the kids at school, especially the girls. However with his luck, they all laughed in the way that was not towards the joke, but at Mingyu himself.

He tried to stay away from them as much as possible, but when he was nervous he thought that they could break the ice enough for him to feel comfortable again. Although he was shy, he still believed that one day his jokes would work on someone.

The date was going well until they didn't have much to talk about. Jihoon set Mingyu up with a girl he used to go to school with, hoping that it would break him out of his timid shell. Mingyu had been on first dates before, but he had hoped it would go better than the others before he stepped out of the dorm and into the restaurant.

She was a little too shy for Mingyu's taste, only because he was shy himself. When the tension was a little too much, Mingyu started to tell his jokes. Although the universe told him not to, he spoke anyway. "Knock knock." The girl gives Mingyu a confused look, but she plays along with his soon-to-be apparent lack of comedy. "Who's there?" "Adore," Mingyu responds. "Adore who?"

"Adore is between us. Open up!"

She doesn't look very amused, and Mingyu wants to put his foot in his mouth for saying such a corny joke. He realizes how loud he said the punchline, and immediately starts blushing. However, the girl sitting a few tables away with her back to Mingyu starts laughing. He doesn't know if it is from his joke, but that doesn't stop him from smiling. Mingyu decides to test if you were laughing at his joke by telling another one to his date.

"Okay, not the best I admit, but I have a better one. Knock knock." His date laughs and says the same words. "Lettuce."

"Lettuce who?"

"Lettuce in, it's cold out here!"

Although it was childish, you loved to hear jokes. Whether the joke was a long skit or a short knock knock joke. Whether the joke was good or bad, something deep inside of you could find it funny enough to laugh. The boy behind you with his date had made two and already you were giggling like an idiot.

You wanted to run away and hide for your terrible timing and small sense of humor. It was good your friend was in the bathroom and couldn't see your embarrassing weakness. "Excuse me," The boy says to his date before he makes a quick stride to your table.

"Hi, my name is Mingyu," He smiles, teeth bright and eyes sparkling. "I know that this is weird, but I think you were laughing at my knock knock jokes." You blush and nod with your smile giving you away. "Yeah, sorry. I know it's kind of silly to laugh at kids jokes but-"

Mingyu stops you before you can say anything and sits down. "No! It's nice. I don't think anyone has laughed at my jokes before. Well, they probably laughed at me more than at the joke I was telling," He smiles. His date turns around with the look of death in her eyes, and Mingyu has to retreat with an apology and hopes that he'll see you again.

You friend comes back to the table to see the grin on your face, and you tell her what happened. "Really? Those jokes sound terrible!" You shush her and look back at Mingyu, who can't stop staring at you. "Yeah, but the guy is cute, so that is a great substitute."

A couple days later, you're walking down the street when you see the boy Mingyu with the dumb jokes sitting on a bench with who you assume is one of his friends. The boy's hair looks a slight pink, and it's cute how the highlights trail down his locks as though it is the top of a snow cone.

Mingyu looks up and sees you, immediately smiling when you walk towards him. "Hey! Jokes guy, and friend," You smile, holding out your hand for Mingyu to shake. "Restaurant girl who laughs at my jokes. This is my friend, Woozi."

"Jihoon actually." Jihoon stands up and shakes your hand too. "So, how did your date go? By the looks of it, she wasn't into your humor," You smirk. Jihoon starts chuckling and pats Mingyu's back. "Funny you mention that. Mingyu and I were just talking about-"

"Woozi, can we have a minute alone?"

Jihoon smiles and nods, walking away to leave you and Mingyu to sit on the bench. "She actually got mad at me for leaving the table to talk to you, but I'm glad I did. It showed that I am actually funny," Mingyu smiles. "I wouldn't say that," You laugh. "I would say the jokes you say are just too corny to not laugh at." Without warning, Mingyu kisses you the second you turn to face him. It's a short peck, but the result leaves the two of you blushing. "I'm sorry, that was quick." You shake your head and grab him by the hand. "Take me on a date first, dummy."

"Knock knock," Mingyu says into the crook of your neck. "Mingyu, I'm sleeping," You groan, putting your hand on his face to push him away. Although you learned to love his jokes, it was hard when he used them everyday to remind you why you fell in love with him. "Baby, the jokes come with me. It's a two package deal," Mingyu told you once when you yelled at him for making a pun about comic books.

"Indulge me, please!" You sigh and turn to face him, a smile playing on your lips. "Who's there?"

"Juno," Mingyu smiles, inching closer to your mouth. You laugh and poke him on the nose, ready to face the ridiculous ending to his joke like you always did. "Juno who?" Before Mingyu says the punchline, he presses a kiss to your lips so gently you almost think he isn't there.

Although it's close to 9 AM and you both have morning breath, his kisses always sent you in a tailspin. His lips part from your mouth to move on to your cheeks, your eyelids, and finally your forehead. You look up to see his own eyes clouded with an emotion you can't place, and it rockets you to the sky.

"Juno I love you right?
