Chapter 16

I didn't know if I should burst into tears or get the heck out of the house. I just sat there and stared at Elena.

There were no words coming out of my mouth even though I knew what to say. I felt Matt's hand go round my waist to show that he was there with me.

"Anna?" Matt called

"It's fine" I said to him and turned to Elena and Charles whom were waiting for my reply. Lincoln also looked at me but Elsa just smiled cause she already knew. "My parents had an accident" I started "My mum went into a coma and my dad...my dad died. I had to quit school and get a job to pay my mum's bills and keep the house" I sighed inwardly

"Oh my" Elena said as she stretched her hands and placed out on my knee "I'm very sorry for your loss. Forgive me if I sounded like a...a nosy woman" she smiled

I smiled back "Thank you and you just wanted to know, you weren't nosy at all"

"I like you already. All those other girls that Matty's always with are nothing compared to you" she said

"Thank you Elena" I smiled

"If you need any help whatsoever, feel free to ask us dear" Charles said

"I will, but Matt's done enough. I guess he got that from you two" I said

"Thank you dear" Elena said

"What could Matt have done to make it enough?" Charles asked

"He transferred my mum to another hospital and he's paying her bills. He's also making me go back to school to finish up and he's paying for my tuition till I get a job to pay him back" I said

"Which I won't be collecting" Matt said

I looked at him "What?"

"There's no way I'd collect your tuition money back from you" he said

"But you said you were. I'm not gonna collect your money if you don't plan on collecting it back" I said in a low voice

"I've already paid for your tuition. So you have two choices. One: Don't go to school and let the money go to waste. And two: Go to school and make use of the money which you won't be paying back. Your choice" he smiled

He was soo dead. This conversation wasn't over yet.

I faced his parents and smiled.

His parents smiled back at me.

Hours later

"Bye" his parents said as Matt drove off.

We had lunch with his parents. His dad, Lincoln and him watched the basketball game that was on.
His mum, Elsa and I were in the kitchen. We talked about a lot of things. My school, my relationship with Matt and my parents.

My parents were something I'd never actually love to talk about. But with Elena it came naturally.

Matt sped off to the house.

I sighed inwardly. In was stressed and I just wanted to go to bed. It was getting dark. Yeah, we stayed at His parents house for that long. They wanted us to stay for dinner but Matt said he had something he had to do before tomorrow.

I wonder what it could be.

I rested my right elbow on the window as the breeze blew my hair. I closed my eyes at the feel of the breeze on my skin. I inhaled deeply. This was a once in a life time kinda feeling.

I felt my hand being held by Matt. I pulled it away from his reach.

"Anna?" I heard him call.

I didn't answer him.
