This has happened too often that I now have to post a disclaimer about this chapter.

Yes, there is a phone number in this chapter that Levi supplies Roxanne with. TAKING THIS INTO CONSIDERATION, please do not try to call / text that number; it may be real, it may not. The fact of the matter is that the number is meant for plot purposes, and was originally just thrown together. DO NOT TAKE IT AS A SERIOUS NUMBER. IF IT HAPPENS TO BE A REAL NUMBER, DO NOT CALL / TEXT AND HARASS THE PERSON ON THE OTHER LINE. JUST LET THE NUMBER BE AND CONTINUE READING. DO NOT COMMENT ABOUT IT, DO NOT ASK ME ABOUT IT; THE ANSWER WILL BE IT IS NOT MEANT TO BE USED BY PEOPLE IN REAL LIFE READING THIS.

Thank you, and this has been a PSA about phone safety and use.

"Dammit Miss Ral! You fucked it up yet again!"

"I'm sorry, sir! I could have sworn you said you wanted--!"

"I have a case to be at in less than an hour, Miss Ral! I ask for the same thing everyday. I take my coffee without cream and absolutely no sugar!"

Upon my arrival to work one morning, I had the pleasure of running into Levi causing a scene with a young woman. With a heavy sigh, I strided over to the scowl-faced gentleman and the brunette, addressing, "Mr. Ackerman, sir?"

He exhaled a contemplative breath and pinched the bridge of his nose, stating, "Miss Westbrook, it seems you're here early."

He shifted his entire attention to me, shooing away the petite girl he was just yelling at. She stormed off with a cup of coffee, presumably the one Levi rejected.

"Yes, I'm always here at this time," I answered calmly. His demeanor was much different from the last I had seen him. Levi looked more relaxed, even after getting a temper with Miss Ral. Whoever she was.

"I'm terribly sorry you had to see that," he said, running his fingers through his silken hair. "That intern is nothing but a fumbling idiot, I'll you that."

"Perfectly alright," I acknowledged sheepishly. "You're just glad that Mr. Smith wasn't around to witness the whole ordeal."

"Right, right." Levi lifted up his sleeve to check the time on a small, yet expensisive watch strapped to his wrist. "Dammit, I'm going to be late for my case. You must excuse me, Miss Westbrook, I have somewhere to be."

"By all means, you should get going. I hope the case isn't too tiring on you, Mr. Ackerman."

He cocked a brow and relinquished a half-hearted grunt. "I as well. Anyways, have a lovely day, Miss Westbrook."

"You too, sir." I waved goodbye to him and made my way to my office. However, I was badgered by Mira halfway through the door, causing me to groan, "If it's about Connie, I don't want to hear it today, Mira."

She clucked her tongue. "No, not at all. I wanted to talk to you about, your special someone." The last statement was emphasized in a teasing, sing-song attitude.

"Reiner?" I replied, unamused.

"No. I'm talking about Mr. Ackerman." Leave it to Mira to know him before me. Even with my social status as Brightfield, the man completely slipped under my radar. Apparently, not Mira's.  "I saw you two chatting it up and how he made that intern go away when you approached him."

"Listen, Mira," I started, pushing her aside and taking a seat at my desk, "I barely found out the man works here. I don't even know him that well."

"So? Get to know him better. I bet you'd get him to like you in a heartbeat!"

"Mira, I'm not going to seduce Mr. Ackerman. He is a busy man and doesn't need some sweet young thing bothering him."
