Briar's POV
Being handcuffed to Myles is TORTURE!!! I can't shower, I can't get dressed, I can't go to the toilet. The principal did not really think this through. I'm standing at my locker with a five year old Myles beside me. "Briar hurry up!!!" I ignore him and continue to put on mascara. "This is your fault, you wouldn't get up this morning so I didn't have time to put on my makeup." That's right I had to sleepover at his house. We set up mattresses and tried to leave as much space as possible between them but that didn't work. It was extremely uncomfortable being that close to him. I put on my last layer of strawberry watermelon lipgloss, my all time favourite make up product in the world. If they have invented a lip gloss better than my strawberry watermelon one I have not yet discovered it. "OK we can go now." I smack my lips together and skip to class. "Why are you so happy this morning? Wait is a bucket of puke going to fall on me?" He mockingly looks up at the roof scanning for buckets. "No but that would be a great idea and this time... I won't miss." I wink sarcastically referring back to when I missed his shoes yesterday in biology. "Oh I just love your little sarcasm moments, you know sarcasm is the lowest form of wit." I cross my arms. "Coming from the 'jerk of the year' your words don't affect me." This is our usual daily routine. We constantly bicker, insult each other and sometimes we actually pull pranks on each other. The bell rings before he can say another word. We take our seats for science. "Guess what class I am giving you an assignment." "Yay." I whisper excitedly, I love assignments. Myles leans down and whispers back. "Nerd." I scoff and turn my attention back to Mr Singers. "Everyone is partnered up with who your sitting next to" He continues to tell us the project and I sit and listen quietly. The bell rings for lunch. "Let's go to the library to do our assignment." "Sure." We walk to the library in silence. I'm not sure Myles has even been to a library before. I was right. As he walks in he begins to touch books and knock things over. "Myles leave the books alone we need to start our project." I hiss at him. I take a seat at my favourite table. "This place is such a nerd fest." He sinks into his chair trying to act cool. "Hey I go here all the time." He looks up at me and smirks. "Exactly." I punch him in the arm. "Stupid asshole." I mutter under my breath making sure he can't hear me. As much as I hate to admit it Myles could easily beat me up and stuff me into a locker. Well he is stronger and taller than me so I make sure that some comments I make about him I keep to myself. I start typing on my computer while he fiddles with a pencil. At one point my hand connects with his and I freeze. His touch sends tingles all through my body. It feels magical and amazing. I look at our hands, which are still touching, and back up to him. I stare into his deep blue eyes. After I realise what I'm doing I pull away quickly and look back at my computer, hoping he doesn't see my tiny blush rising on my cheeks. That was embarrassing. I continue on, casually acting as if nothing happened. "Done!" I say a little to loudly while pressing print. Myles and I hurry over to the printer and collect it. "That was easy, let's go hand it in." He starts to walk off but he doesn't get far since I'm holding him back. "Umm no, this is half the assessment done, you need to do the other half." He gives me a frown. "Oh you thought I was going to do this whole thing then let you take credit, yeah no, your doing the other half and I'm not helping you." I beam proudly. I would have to be blind not to see Myles' little game. I know exactly what he's like. He always pairs up with the smart girls, since they always have a crush on him, and he makes them do all the work. He gets his A and the girl gets a slither of what it feels like to be liked. I'm not like those poor, clueless girls though. I don't give a damn if I'm popular or not and if people like me or not. I have confidence and what some people would call 'an attitude problem'. He groans before sitting down at his laptop starting to type. I can tell he isn't getting any work done and is just mucking around. This is taking forever and this is due tomorrow. We would be lucky if we finish by New Year's Eve! I cannot fail beginners science because of Myles. This should be easy but of course Myles has to make everything 50 times harder. I start getting restless and he knows it. He's doing this on purpose. He wants me to think that we are going to fail so that I will come swooping in and do the work for him. I feel the urge to help but I hold it back. I'm about to burst. Who cares if he doesn't do any work I CAN'T FAIL!!!!! "OK that's it!" I shout getting numerous shushes. I pull his laptop away from him and start furiously typing. I can see his smirk out of the corner of my eye. At this moment I don't really care. I print it out and quickly staple the sheets together and check for any typo's. "Let's hand it in." We walk down to Mr. Singers class and hand in our project. I walk out with Myles to the cafeteria. "I knew I could get you to do the work." He says like its the easiest thing ever. I punch his shoulder again. He laughs probably because I couldn't hurt him if my life depended it. The rest of the day speeds by and before I know it I'm on my way to my house. Since we spent last night at his house we are going to mine now. My mum pulls up in the driveway and we go inside. Hopefully nothing bad happens tonight.

A/U This chapter sucks but I have a really good idea for the next one so this one had to be a bit crappy. Hope you have a great day (I didn't😤)
