texture tut two: color me blue

Hi guys! Here's a tutorial for a texture I made using pixlr! Example below-

Step 1: Open a new canvas of dimensions 512x800 in Pixlr Editor.

Step 2: Create a new layer. [Layer - New Layer]

Step 3: Come to the gradient tool and click on the black and white gradient. Change the colours of the gradient to #90cef5 and #55c2b9. Then, apply the gradient to the new layer you just created. 

Here's a picture to help in case you don't know to apply the gradient. 

Step 4: Then, after setting the colour in the colour palette to black, click on Filter - Halftone and apply the following settings-

Step 5: Now, come to Filter- Kaleidoscope and apply the following settings-

Step 6: Click on the external link and save the PNG image. Then open it in Pixlr and go to Edit-Select Pixels. After doing that, go to Edit-Define Brush. You'll see that the image has been added to the brush toolbar. In case you're not sure what the brush toolbar is, here's a picture-

Select the new brush you just made and In the diameter section, change the brush size and make it a bit smaller.

Step 7: Now, change the colour in the colour palette to while, and run the brush across your image in any way you like. And that's it, you're done! I also created a new layer, filled it with the colour #8a8a8a and changed the blend mode to Hardlight, just to lighten the texture up a bit, but this step is completely optional. Here's my final result:

Note: The color results can vary from person to person, depending on how you apply the gradient. I followed the exact same steps, but with a lighter gradient colour, and here's what I got-

You don't have to stick to every instruction I've given here;  play around with the colours, settings, etc and see what you come up with! I can't wait to see what you guys come up with! Happy Pixlr-ing!
