Nurse Joy jumped a little at the soft poke to her hip, nearly dropping the vials she was putting away in the medicine cabinet. Turning and looking down she saw it was only her loyal and as always cheerful Chansey.
"What is it Chansey?"
"Chansey, chansey!" It chirped back happily and pointed out the storeroom they were in and to the main part of the clinic.
"A patient? Certainly lets not waste a moment."
With that Joy set the vials back in the box she had been sorting and trotted to the door, Chansey close behind. Moving through the double door Joy stopped both in step and greeting when seeing the visitor wasn't a patience but a man in doctors whites and coat looking over the desk at some paperwork.
"Oh, um I was expecting a someone in need of aid and well... how can I help you doctor?"
Straightening up the stranger looked to her and smiled. Joy shifted her gaze a bit off feeling heat and color flush her cheeks, the man was rather handsome. He was tall, maybe 6'1, slim with black hair cut short of his shoulders and with deep brown eyes and cleanly cut goatee and mustache. As he turned fully to her, Joy saw a Murkrow perched happily on his right shoulder watching her with its red eyes.
"Doctor Ergo, Peter if it's okay. Sorry for the surprise but I'm here to introduce a new test for check-ups."
"I hadn't received any notes or letters Doctor Er... I mean Peter."
"Understandable, things are a mess right now and this is actually just a trial run. We are actually testing it in your own clinic, sorry I beat the notice."
"Oh that's okay. Could you tell more about it?"
"I can do better, I can show you if you have a little time to spare." Jack said with a smile as he leaned down and picked up a large black leather doctors back obscured by the counter.
"Absolutely, a wonderful idea. Follow me to one of the examination rooms. Now Chansey you keep an eye up here and come to me for any emergencies. By the way you have a lovely Murkrow."
"Chansey." Exclaimed Chansey happily and gave a little salute and trotted behind the counter. Peter patted the pokemon as he passed getting a joyful chirp from the pink creature as he followed Joy further into the clinic to the private examination rooms.
Three days later.
Officer Jenny, dressed in her uniform for the days work looked at the small note from her mailbox.
"A surprise checkup? Huh, well I guess it has been a bit since I've had a checkup. It will be nice to see Joy again."
Shrugging she mounted her bike and noted that she would have to clear her schedule for her appointment tomorrow.
A fortnight later.
Jesse passingly looked up from the magazine she was skimming to help with the boredom of sitting in this waiting then started to look back to the article on'How To Keep Your Pokemon's Fur Silky & Smooth'then her head snapped back up fully realizing the new patron.
"Cassidy?"
The blond newcomer looked turned at her name and seeing the redheaded fellow Team Rocket she couldn't help sneer.
"Well if it isn't Jessie, what brings you back to lovely Viridian City? I thought you and your bumbling friend and kitten were still chasing after some kid and his electric rat."
Feeling heat and color rise to her cheeks took a moment to compose herself before Cassidy.
"Cassidy dear I hope you aren't here to hear the result of anything serious or... embarrassing. I'm just her for a Team Rocket annual checkup."
Cassidy's eyes narrowed as her smile took a joyful tinge at this tennis match of insult, Jessie was always good at it.
"What a coincidence" She flipped out a small 3x5 letter marked with the seal of 'Nurse Joy's Clinic'. "I guess they just wanted to compare the alpha with a beta, can't blame them. Team Rocket is only about the best of the best."
