I'm walking down the hall, going to my locker to grab all the materials I'll be needing for the day. I got used to the way school works here now. But today was not as usual as last time, I guess.

I look at my schedule and mentally make a plan on how to avoid running into Kacey. The bell suddenly rings and I quickly take out my notebook and textbook from my locker.

"Lance! Lance! Hold up!" someone yells in the middle of the quiet hall.

Pink?

"Leave me alone, Kacey!" He yells back.

Kacey?

I turn around and my brown hair that reaches a little below my shoulder swifts to the side. I catch a glimpse of Kacey grabbing Lance's arm from the back. Lance turns back around his bangs falling in place while he struggles to get free. The bell rings once again which proves one thing.

I'm late!

Lance curses out loud and right when he's about to leave, a woman steps out of the office. Ugh. Why is my locker right near the office again?!

"You three," she motions with her fingers. "Come with me, please." Oh, no. Please, oh please don't be detention!

Lance frowns and glances at me and his dark green eyes widen in realization. "Christopher Columbus?!" he yells and he points his finger at me.

"Yep, I'm that bloody guy," I roll my brown eyes at him and follow into the office after the woman.

"Do you have any reason for being late to class?" the woman orders. Her dark black hair is in a mess and grown wrinkles on her forehead- probably from all the stress. That could mean she will be more strict on us than usual.

"This bloody girl was grabbing my arm and pulling me which prevented me from attending my class," Lance says, shooting silent daggers at Kacey.

Now, let me tell you one thing. Kacey looked very uncomfortable. I almost would have laughed, have it not been for Lance being there.

"Please refrain from using that type of language Mr. Spink," the woman says. She shifts her eyes from Lance and Kacey to me. "Who are you?"

"I'm a new student. My name is Crystal Havens," I explain.

"Well, if you're a new student you do realize this will be going on your permanent record?" the woman says.

The frick? So apparently, just because I was late for one day (note: one day) it's going on my permanent record?! Lord!

"I did not realize that this place has such a stupid policy," I tell her, honestly. Oh oops. My mouth really needs to shut up. Like, right now.

"Excuse me?" the woman raises her voice. I have a feeling I will get in bigger trouble than before. "Do you know who you're speaking to?" she raises her voice even higher.

"Yeah duh, a woman who happens to work here. Why can't I say anything like that?" I mumble. Not wanting to get in more trouble. But apparently, she hears me.

"WHAT?! Did you just say 'Yeah I am talking to some dumb woman who doesn't know what she is doing here?!' " the woman's face heats up and you can literally see her veins popping out. She didn't hear what I said at all. She totally misunderstood what I said entirely. And if I say that I didn't say such things, she wouldn't listen to me. A teacher or a student. Obviously the teacher is going to win and overpower everyone else. Unless you become a rebel. Which is exactly not what I want to become.

Not how I was before.

"Young lady! You're either getting two weeks of detention or you being rude to the teacher goes on your permanent record with being late!" the woman screams. I understand her giving me detention. But does she have to give me two weeks of detention? I think the woman is having a really bad day today. Then she turns to Lance and Kacey.
