Butterfly Waltz (Reid x Reader)

"Oh, come on!" You sighed as the lights flickered off. "You've got to be kidding me." You said with a huff as you threw the T.V. remote aside. You looked at the window as lightning flashed, illuminating the apartment. The storm had knocked out the power. "What are we gonna do now?" You asked.

Your fiancé, Spencer, walked out from the kitchen and lit some of the candles you had around the apartment. "You could finally teach me how to play piano...?" He suggested as he flashed you his best puppy-dog eyes. You smiled. You could never say no to Spencer when he pulled that face.

"Alright," you lifted yourself up off the couch and walked over to the piano. Spencer took a seat next to you, so close his shoulder touched yours. You started playing the first few notes to Gymnopedie No. 1 as Reid watched your hands attentively. He almost immediately picked up on what you were showing him, and before long, you watched him play the entire piece by himself. You couldn't help but smile. His tongue just slightly peeked out from between his lips as he concentrated on the keys. The beautiful sound filled the apartment, and the two of you became lost in the notes.

Two weeks later...

Everything so far had been a dream come true. It all seemed so surreal; you were finally married to the man you love. You couldn't have pictured a better day. The wedding had breezed by, and now you were having the time of your life at the reception. It was almost time to cut the cake.

The musician finished his last piece of the night, but before you could do anything, Spencer took you by the hand and led you over to the piano. He thanked the pianist as he left and took his seat.

"What're you doing?" You asked with a chuckle as Spencer gently pulled you down to sit next to him.

"Remember that night when the power went out and you taught me how to play?" He asked and nodded towards the piano.You nodded. "Well, the next day, I signed up for lessons." Reid gave you a nervous smile and looked up at you. His eyes were glistening. "I learned your favorite song so I could play it for you tonight." Spencer took a deep breath and started playing the Butterfly Waltz.

You struggled to bite back the joyful tears that were starting to appear in your eyes. You watched him in awe as his fingers danced over the keys. You couldn't have found anyone better to spend the rest of your life with.
