After a while, reading all those competitions and contests like:

What's the difference between them? Where do you start? Are they worth it? What about Wattpad Stars, Hot Lists, and Paid Stories? What's Wattpad Books and Wattpad Studios? What about all the Ambassador-managed profiles and the miscellaneous profiles, and all of their contests?
Well I'll tell ya.

The WattysareWattpad's official awards, akin to the Pulitzer. The general idea is to reward good books with fancy stickers, more reads, and a chance at some kind of Wattpad partnership (Studios, Paid Stories, etc.). The Wattys change each year, but the basics are the same. Check out thewattys and have a read for yourself!
So is it worth it to enter? Sure it is. However, don't sell the farm to make it work. Your story needs to be Wattpad-exclusive and 50,000 words.
So. you have to ask yourself one question... Does it sound fun?

If it sounds easy or doable or not so bad, DO IT. If it sounds hard, you should still try, but these should be deal breakers:
1. You have a thriving community of readers on another app or on Amazon.
Don't risk what you have for something you might earn. However, if you don't have anything major going for you elsewhere and have hit a dead-end, or if Wattpad is your strongest community, go exclusive for the contest.
2. Writing 50,000 words sounds un-fun.
If you're a writer you should be having fun, because why else do it? "Go be an electrician" is what I tell people who primarily look for fame and fortune as a writer. Writing is hard work, but it should be hard work you love.
So only you can decide if The Wattys are for you, but that's my advice.
