He tosses and turns in bed. Sweat droplets running down his forehead. With a jolt, he wakes up, echoing a scream through the manor.
This was normal for the Young Earl. And every night, the same young girl would come to take his horrific thoughts away at night.
She walks in, concerned for her Young Master. She walks over and sits on the side of his bed.
"Master, it's alright" her hand gently caresses the Blonde's hair.
He instantly leans into her touch. Oh how he wishes she wasn't a maid and that they could be together. He feels sane with her. Like the world isn't corrupt like it is now.
"Lay with me tonight" he whispers.
She nods and takes off her shoes. She lays beside the Earl who pulls her closer to him.
"I love you.." Is all he whispered before drifting asleep.
And she did love him too. But this, this kind of love was not allowed. It would get both of them into serious trouble if anyone were to find out. So that's how it was.
Every night they would lay beside one another and act like a wedded couple. She would sneak out before the head butler came to wake the young Earl and that's how they lived on.
