The smell of bacon filled my nose, I rolled on my side and let out a small groan. My hand gripped my phone and I saw that Lexi was calling me of course, I answered
"Morning, Lexi" I yawned
"Hey. Umm, I need help" I swung my legs over the side of the bed
"Yeah, what's up?" She let out a breath
"I think Jon is cheating on me" I raised my eyebrows
"Why would you think that?"
"Last night we went on a date, on the way to the place his phone rings."
"So?"
"It's this girl named Layla"
"Oh-"
"I should've listened to Eva, remember? At the dinner? She warned me Luna, she said that he wasn't one to keep a steady relationship." She rambled on in a panicked voice
"Calm down, Lexi. Maybe it's a relative"
"If it was a relative he would've told me about her and he wouldn't have freaked out about me wanting to answer it" I sighed
"If you believe he's cheating, we'll figure this out. I don't think he is, but if that's the case then he's dead" she chuckled at the last part
"Thanks. Bye, love you!" I hung up and left the room, following the still vibrant smell of bacon. I stopped and leaned against the doorway, Joe stood there-shirtless- making breakfast. I noticed that 2 plates were set on the table
"Been a while since you cooked for me, Joe" he jumped and turned to look at me
"Yeah. I guess it has" I walked over to him with my hands behind my back
"So. Why are you making breakfast"
"Just thought I'd be nice to you today" he glanced at me and smiled
"Hmm" I nodded "What do you need" I cut to the chase, he turned off the stove and put the food on the plate
"So, my mom is having another family dinner next weekend " I crossed my arms over my chest as he sat across from me
"And" he let out a breath
"And , she still thinks I'm in a relationship-"
"You lied to her" I stated more than asked, he started eating "Joe"
"She was pressuring me about marrying the pastors daughter, I didn't want to because... I just didn't want to! And as you know, my mother doesn't take no for an answer so- I told her I was in a relationship." I nodded at him
"You know your mothers gonna tear you a new one when she finds out you lied to her"
"She won't find out, because you are coming with me and you're gonna pretend like we've been together for this entire time" he leaned forward and smiled at me
"Really. Why would I do that?" I started eating
"Because, you love my mother. And it would break her heart if she found out that I lied " I just looked up him as I ate "Oh, come on Luna! It's one night, is that so hard"
"Yes, it is. But I'll do it" he opened his mouth to speak
"I'm only doing this for your mother" he closed his mouth and smirked at me
