"Ready? Up" I straightened my back pulling the weight up
"Straighten your arms Luna!" Joe caught the weight as I dropped it, I just glanced at him then walked over to the bench. He set the weight back on the bar and walked over to me
"Where is your head at?" I rubbed my face, then looked at him. He was quiet, then he sat beside me
"Look, I understand. I really do, but you can't just give up on everything else. Okay? I know for sure she wouldn't want you to do that-"
"You say that like she's dead. She is not dead" he sighed in defeat before pulling me into his chest. The gym door slammed and a grinning Ambrose made his way over to us
"Luna! Just the person I was looking for" I squinted at him, what does he want? Maybe if I just pretend I got a call he'll leave me- where the hell is my phone? I last had it when-Dammit. I fucked up. I avoided eye contact with either of them like it was the plague.
"Hey Joe, how are you?"
Joe was staring daggers at the side of my head, he knew something was up.
"I'm good Jon, what's up?"
"I actually don't remember-oh! Yeah" he reached in his back pocket and I held my breath
"I forgot to pay your back for that time you brought me lunch"
He handed Joe some money and I let out the air I'd held in my chest, I finally looked up at Jon. He had the most conceded look on his face
"Oh! Yeah, I forgot about that. Thanks man"
Jon gave him a nod and turned his attention to me
"How you doing Luna?" My mind reacted immediately after making eye contact. Run. Get your ass up, and run! I started to get up but Joe's grip tightened forcing me back on the bench
"I'm good. How are you?" I sent him a tight smile
"Oh I'm wonderful, darling" my stomach began twisting and knotting up, I felt sick to my stomach.
"Well I'll see you guys later" I looked at the floor until I heard the door close
"Luna"
"Hmmm?"
"Look at me" I didn't move
"Dammit Luna! Look at me" I jumped at his tone, but looked at him anyway
"I'm going to ask one more time, where were you earlier" he was staring at me with so much rage that it made me want to cry
"Answer the question. And don't you dare lie to me Luna!"
"I was in Jon's room"
"Tell me exactly what happened"
"I..I went over to let him know that I'd called the police for Lexi, he started staring at me in...awkward ways and he was quiet. I asked him a bout what happened in the locker room-"
"What happened in the locker room"
"He tried to kiss me" I bit my lip as Joe stared at me
"And you didn't say anything?"
"I didn't think I needed to! We didn't kiss-then. And I didn't want to cause any problems-"
"You didn't kiss then?!"
"No...He-he kissed me when I was in his room earlier" I rushed my words out and Joe's eyes widened with rage
"You didn't fucking tell me you guys kissed?! What? You thought it would just go away!?" I shrunk slightly as he stood up
"Yes, actually. I did"
"Really!? That has to be the most stupid idea ever Luna" he rolled his eyes and grabbed our bags
"Get up, let's go"
"Joseph-" he held a hand up, then gave me a side eye
"Be quiet" my jaw dropped slightly
"Joe..." he dropped his hand and began to head toward the exit
(JonPOV)
I chuckled to myself and walked out of the gym, leaving Luna to deal with that. Of course I would run in to trouble
"Hello, little brother" Layla tossed her hands on her hips and gave me a smirk identical to my own
"What" I sneered
"So, I heard your little Barbie is missing" I glared at her, but didn't say anything
"So you decided to ruin their relationship, huh? Yeah, I saw and heard"
"You don't understand, I need Luna right now! Joe is just fine, but I'm going through hell! Luna is my last reminder of Lexi, alright?!"
"Hmm." She tilted her head at me, before letting out a breath
"Look, I could care less. But my offer still stands" she crossed her arms over her chest
"No! Get out of my face, you're disgusting"
"What if I told you I could get you back your accessory?" I tensed at the mention of getting Lexi back, I slowly turned to face her. Her face dissolved into a satisfied smile
"That's it baby brother" I glared at her while she linked her arm in mine and pulled me toward my car, Lexi will kill me when she finds out what I've just agreed to. Or she could just not know the terms of my getting her back
