22 • her new beginning

mako's pov

Sakiko did end up leaving three days after that.

The day before she was going to leave, I wrapped up the flower pin I got her from the earth kingdom in my scarf, and I put it in her suitcase.

Well, I didn't.

I had Korra do it for me. I left a note saying, "from the guy who confessed."

I cried for the first time in a long time the night I saw her and confessed.

Riku, Ren, and Sakiko ended up taking a ship back to the fire nation instead of an air ship Cheif Beifong offered to take them on.

How would I know this?

I spied from afar.

I grew confused because she looked as if she was looking for someone to go and say goodbye her.

A whole big part of me was hoping that she was waiting for me, but I stayed put.

I didn't want to be wrong.

Sakiko was planning on this being her finish line since she wanted republic city to be her starting line.

But, I feel as if she made the right decision.

The fire nation is Sakiko Sotaro's new beginning and part of me hopes that's her finish line.

The finish line she's been wanting.

of course, the other part hopes she comes back to me.
