'I don't believe in luck, I believe in grace' - Lecrae

Bill Corbs stared non-paused at the ceiling. This was one heck of a day. First he had awoken to some important business at the NYPD...apparently is boys had run into night operation trouble and he had a police chief to answer. After that, Dave's medical team had summoned a meeting. Linda had to be at the farmers market so that left him with Dave to deal with. He had rushed to the hospital to meet the team. Dr. Myers, the team leader had looked intently at Bill as if deciding whether this discussion was best. Dr. Myers always had a sort of phobia for Bill

"Mr. Corbs" Dr. Myers had said

Silence ensued

"Mr. Corbs" Dr. Harling a female on the team said "I'm afraid we can't handle Dave anymore"

"Anymore...What do you mean you can't handle Dave anymore" Bill had said

"What we are saying Mr. Corbs" Dr. Taylor another Med said, "Is our facility doesn't seem to be working so we're proposing a transfer to a hospital in Dallas"

"Dallas...Texas" Bill had taken a minute to sink it in..."You think they'll be better than here?"

"We believe" All three Doctors had chorused.

"Well...Dallas it will be"..."How will the move be made" Bill had asked

"A helicopter will transport him from here to Houston where an Ambulance will complete the trip to Dallas"

"I and his mom can fly with him yeah?"

"Yes Bill"

"Well, I guess we have a journey to prepare for" Bill had answered

All 3 doctors had looked at Bill in Awe. "Bill Corbs! Being so cool about everything!" their eyes seemed to say

After that, bill had called Linda incessantly but he kept getting voicemail. He waited it out. By 6pm, he called again no reply. Where was she? He got into his car and started driving around town looking for her. Starting from the farmers market, he kept getting dead ends. He called the boys and none had seen her. 9pm came and he knew Samantha would be worried but he didn't have her cell. He called her mom who had promised to call her and joined in the search. Suddenly, he saw a Skype video message from around 5pm. He played it and there was Santiago with his wife threatening death and demanding a $1,000,000. Hell he didn't take even a dollar from Santiago. He couldn't call the cops because he was a criminal and if someone else did he would be implicated so there was no solution than to pay or kill Santiago. Payment...Santiago didn't deserve a dime from him. Dave tried to seriously calm down but it wasn't working out. Yes he would appear like he wanted to pay and kill Santiago scare him. Even when Dave got a message that Dave was awake he didn't immediately calm down. There wasn't any use the boy waking up without a mother...a lady he truly loved, Linda

Santiago Reves started at his watch and listened to it tick. 4pm exactly an hour to ultimatum and Bill hadn't shown up convenient. He wondered if Bill actually thought he wouldn't kill Linda now that he was actually planning to but maybe a shot in her arms will speed Bill up. Santiago conceived the thought a moment then decided against it. The video should have been pretty convincing that this time it was serious business. He stared at Linda drained of energy and sleeping. Beautiful lady she was...he now saw why bill married her. If only she was a street girl, she would have ruled the night. Bill had a lot of nerve turning on him. He still wondered how such a wuss became his right hand man. All it took was a family re-union actually a hit and run and Bill was planning on moving back to NY to be with his son. Then an accident and Bill was gone and re-attracted to his Jewish wife what nonsense. Now all he needed was his money. After all, how many run away gang members had Bill killed for him...now wouldn't be bad to hurt Bill.
