Guardians: Shield of Kelope

Chapter 2

Kelsey was pretty cool, I mean under the circumstances it's was good to have a friend that was well 'normal'. We walked to the dining room and everyone fell silent "why does that always happen" I whispered to Kelsey and she shrugged "don't worry about it, they are just surprised you beat Logan" she said and I nodded

"yeah well they better quit it" I said, Kelsey smirked lightly and took me to her table. Kelsey was an Earth guardian, they could either control plants or rocks and stuff, she controlled plants.

She grew the best blue berries I've ever had. The table that Kelsey said was the water Guardians gave me glares, especially Logan. Dinner finished and we were told to go to our wings, that's when I figured out the layout if this place. The top level was the training arena, and the main hangout, underneath was the dining room in the centre and then from there it spread off into five different directions for the elements Earth, Water, fire, Spirit, Sky. From there I went to the Earth wing since that was where Kelsey was. A rainforest wallpaper gave off a fresh sent that was amazing, like dew on plants 'don't ask'. Then it went into a circle, boys to the left girls right. After that the rooms were across from each other down a very long hall. Kelsey took me to one of the many spare rooms and smiled "well we all get our own room for privacy and stuff which it cool but you can sneak in my room if you need to, I'm seven doors down or the door with caution poison ivy sign, don't worry I don't really have poison ivy it's just a deterrent" she said and I smiled while realising something "what about my clothes, I never brought them" I said and she shrugged "they should appear in your room, if your uncle did the spell right" Kelsey answered

"wait what spell" I asked

"all mortals family members or guardians are given a spell that sends their kids belongings and other stuff from their room to here, cool huh" she said and I smiled while opening my room door. I entered it and man was it beautiful. The wallpaper of the forest was so real I nearly walked into a wall.

My suit cases and other belongings were neatly placed around. I had an ensuite to the left which was pretty sweet. A built in wardrobe to the right "this is awesome, better than my bedroom" I said to her. Kelsey smiled at me and I smiled back "hey thanks for being nice to me" I said and she shrugged

"oh please, thank you for not kicking my ass" she replied, I laughed as I remembered my earlier threat.

We talked in my room for a bit about random crap till a chime singled for us to go to sleep "well I better get going before Alexander finds out" she said and I nodded

"well I'll see you tomorrow" I said while she walked to her room.

I took a quick shower and put my clothes in my wardrobe

before climbing into my silk like sheets and fell asleep.

I walked up the stairs and I breathed in as much air as I could "this forest smells pretty freakin awesome" I said out loud, Kelsey laughed and I joined in. Kelsey introduced me to some of the other teens here, most of the fire Guardians are forgers and blacksmiths. Water Guardians trained towards the lake, Earth Guardians grew plants or rose large masses or rock and earth from the ground. I only saw one Spirit Guardian, and not one Sky Guardian "where are all of the Sky and Spirit Guardians" I asked Kelsey and she shrugged "they are very powerful and throw out a huge sent, one has never made it here in like a thousand years or something" she explained. I shrugged while walking to the fencing arena.

I saw a familiar blade come towards my head and pressed my handles button to quickly deflect it "round two huh" I said and Logan shrugged "you are so dead for yesterday" he yelled, I laughed at him and gestured him to attack. He charged at full speed and I blocked his first swipe. He counter charged but I never gave in. He dropped his weapon and clenched his fist in mid air. I felt water wrap its way around me and I held my breath as I was submerged in mid air. I felt faint, the pressure on my lungs was ready to be released. My eyes fogged over and I went limp.

I coughed up a lot of water and saw him to my right, I shot up and tackled him while wrapping my hands around his throat "that's your idea of revenge, kill a girl who has no powers, you cowardly son of a bitch" I said before being dragged off and a blanket wrapped around me "Lexi are you ok" Kelsey asked and I shrugged

"yeah fine" I said bitterly.

I didn't know that guys problem but I knew it wouldn't be my last encounter with him. I walked around the arena a bit and saw the only Spirit Guardian. He had pitch black hair and I think Purple eyes "um hi" I said quietly and he smiled "hi, your Lexi right" he said and I nodded

"you looked bored over here by your self" I said to him, he nodded silently and I nodded with him till he started to shake. His eyes went a hazy purple and yellow like a fog and he shot up from his fit

"fourteen years shall quest with two,

collect five pieces to become true,

fatal flaws shall rise when unneeded,

choice to tear soul will defeat or lead succession,

claim to unwanted fate,

the beginning to evils state" he said in a doubled voice. I stumbled backwards as he got knocked out.

Kelsey came to my side as I stumbled backwards "what happened, what happened to Felix" she said and I shook my head "I think he had a seizure or something and then started to speak in a weird voice and fainted" I said rushing and she pulled me to Alexander's office "Alexander, Felix had a prophecy" Kelsey said

"what did he say" Alexander asked and I stepped forward "wait a prophecy, like fortune telling type prophecy" I asked and he nodded. I took a deep breath and recited the prophecy.

He stumbled and rested on his desk "I can't believe this, you haven't been trained " he muttered

"the prophecy is about me isn't it, I'm the only one who's fourteen here right" I said and he nodded while taking a moment to think. Once he had an idea he gestured Kelsey to step forward. He whispered something in her ear "but sir, you can't let me come" she said and Alexander nodded "you can go but so must he". After that Kelsey hurried of the room and returned with Logan "what's he doing here" I yelled but Alexander put his hand up

"Logan will come with you, he has great experience that you both will need" Alexander explained

"I'm sorry but did you forget that he almost kill me two hours ago" I yelled

"no excuses, and on the hand of finding five pieces I've figured it out, the shield of Kelope" he said and I gave him a look "um the shield of what" I asked

"Kelope, it was separated into five parts, one piece for each element Earth,Water, Fire, Spirit and Air" he explained and I nodded "so what happens if the wrong person finds all of the shied" I asked

"anything, destroy the world or worse control it, in the wrong hands its a dangerous weapon" Alexander explained, I nodded whilst thinking of the only thing that mattered "and where are these pieces exactly" I asked

"well they were buried in five chambers in a mountain"

"and this mountain is" I pushed, why don't I get a straight answer from these people "the chambers are in Mt Rainier, Washington" Alexander answered and I nodded with a huff "finally why do you have to beat around the bush to tell me a freakin answer" I said and stepped forward "Hey you don't understand, these chambers are protected with some of the most dangerous and fearful monsters and traps. A lot of Guardians have died because they're draw to it's power" Logan instructed and I nodded "and I haven't been claimed which means it won't affect me as much, lets finish this stupid quest before November 3rd" I said

"yeah and why's that" Logan asked

"it's November 3rd in two weeks and that's my birthday, also cause Neil will be here and I want to kill him before he can kill me" I answered, and I could have sworn I saw Alexander smile "well then it's settled you three will leave tomorrow, and Logan remember this is Lexi's quest" Alexander added. I smirked lightly as we walked up from his office.
