Hushed whispers into the phone. Those were never a good sign “I'm so sorry Colton.” I heard Skylar’s voice say “No…thank you for telling me. He’s coming back here because you were on the phone with a number in Murfreesboro unbelievable.” He said angrily. “He’s back?!” I said my eyes were filling with tears. Colton rubbed my back “Yes…but he doesn’t know you’re here Hollie….I think he might be coming over since he recognized the number as mine…Sky will take you out for the next few days.” He said smiling “Okay…” I said my voice shaking. No. He couldn’t come close to finding me. I was glad I was a blonde now maybe he couldn’t find me. I had my hair brunette when we were living together so maybe this wouldn’t tip him off that it’s me.

I made my way off with Schyler for the day. We went out for ice cream and hung at the mall. Anything to keep us busy “Hollie! I just thought of the best idea!” Schyler said with a smile. “What?” I smiled back “We should go into Nashville for the week he’s here. It’s only a 30 minute drive and we can stay at a hotel!” she smiled. I smiled back. It was the best idea she had. “Brilliant.” I hugged her as we made our way into Nashville for the week. “Colt, we’re staying in Nashville for the week.” Schyler said over the phone to be sure he didn’t hear me. “Okay Sky be careful okay.” He sighed. He thought it was a good idea but he worried about me. “Don’t worry she’ll be fine!” Schyler promised. “Okay…I’ll come switch with you later okay? You have school.” He reminded Schyler who folded her arms. I couldn’t help but laugh. “Okay Sky see you tonight.” He said as he hung up.

Schyler and I spent the day at the Grand Ole Opry. We went on a tour and even attended a show that one of my favorite artists Carrie Underwood performed at. I even got to meet her. It was quite the thrill for me to be in Nashville. Later that night Colton switched with Schyler “Hey you how do you like Nashville.” He smiled and asked me “It’s great but it’s even better with you here.” I replied honestly. He kissed me. “He’s leaving the 28th Hollie. He asked me so many questions about Skylar thanks for giving me all the background on her this morning.” He laughed. I nodded “Anytime. I know how he is. Did you say Skylar was your girlfriend?” I asked. He nodded “It’s the most believable lie I could come up with. When he asked how we met I said we met at a Miranda Lambert concert in Mississippi when I was on vacation. He seemed to buy it.” I sighed of relief. “You’re going to be okay Holliepop please don’t worry.” He told me stroking my hair. I curled up in his arms like usual knowing he’d protect me from any harm that came my way.

Michael had return again the next day and Colton’s parents told him Colton would be working late tonight so he left for the day and said he’d be back tomorrow and his parents had told him he’s working late everyday but Saturday which made Michael furious. I think he had a feeling I was there but Colton wouldn’t allow him to find me.

Colton and I spent the next few days in Nashville which was amazing. We went on cute little dates and even went through all the different attractions. We went to the Ryman one day, the Country Music Hall of Fame; we even attended a concert that Colton scored tickets to for my idol, Mariah Carey. I could hardly believe it when he surprised me with those tickets it had been the sweetest thing anyone had done for me. He said he actually had bought them in advance long before he knew Michael was coming so he made good use out of them. I kissed him thanking him for everything. So all in all, my Nashville trip was so much fun.

Saturday, Colton and Schyler traded again and Schyler and I went shopping again for the day. When we told Colton we were shopping he said “Can’t you two ever do anything else?” we laughed it off as we spent the day out together. Michael asked Colton more questions while we were away about why he worked so late all week down to where he worked. Colton told him he worked late because this was their busiest time during Halloween (which it was).  Our boss luckily helped us out on our lie because he knew what Michael was like to Baylie having known Baylie all his life. So he told him Colton had been working all week and even gave proof. Tomorrow he’d be gone. I was so glad that I could return home. While Nashville was fun I enjoyed staying with Colton every day.

Sunday, Schyler and I had a lazy day at the hotel watching TV. Colton waited to call us until he was sure Michael had left seeing that his car was driving back to Texas.  It was about Midnight “Sorry guys he was staying for the longest time he finally left. You can come back.” He told us. Schyler and I drove back to Murfreesboro and got to the house fine. I looked around to be sure he wasn’t there. He didn’t show up. I was going to be okay. He couldn’t hurt me no more.
