14. The proposal

Tony's POV

The work day felt like it was going on forever, mostly because we had no case all morning which was a good thing. That meant we would be able to leave at five, something we were all happy for, but today was just not our day.

We were about to head out for lunch when director Vance walked in with a teenage girl beside him. She had long dark hair and big bright tear filled blue eyes. The left side of her cheek was bruised like someone had hit her and there were visible hand prints around her neck and wrists. The dad in me wanted to give the kid a hug and let her know that she's safe now, but the agent in me knew that wouldn't be appropriate. I'll just never understand why someone would hurt and innocent child

Gibbs: what did ducky say?

Vance: she's one tough kid, she has a few fractured ribs, she'll need to take it easy for a few weeks, but she'll be okay. I made a call and had her foster parents picked up, their on their way here now, and I called child services. They will be sending someone for her

"What's going on here exactly?" I asked completely lost

McGee: Tony you remember the agent we worked with a few years back. MI6 special agent Azzarà

"The British Italian? How can I forget that woman, she saved all our lives more than once that week" I stated, this was just before kate had died we worked an undercover case with MI6 agent Ariella Azzarà, the woman was hardcore and at the same time the nicest person I've ever met and I'm friends with Abby so that says a lot

McGee: she died in a car accident the day after you took your vacation from NCIS to be with your family and this is her daughter....................

Daniela: Daniela Arabella Azzarà

"Well it's very nice to meet you Daniela. That's a full Italia name you've got Daniela meaning God is my judge and Arabella meaning beautiful girl. Your mom must have put a lot of thought into naming you" I told her "didn't Ariella live in Italy after resigning from MI6?" I asked and McGee nodded

McGee: she moved here the month before her death

Gibbs: I made you a promise that I'd keep you safe, I'm sorry I let you down kid. It won't happen again

Daniela: your sending me back

Gibbs: No, I'm taking you home. DiNozzo when Gina and Mario Gomez get here I want an explanation for every bruise on my kid. You have them wait for me

"Yes boss" I agreed as he walked out with the little girl following behind me. I guess our family just got a little bit bigger and I would hate to be the man and woman who has the boss that upset. That little girl is a kid, not explanation can justify her injuries

Just as I was about to refill my coffee cup my girls walked in. Tali excitedly ran into my arms "hi pumpkin, how's my favorite girl?" I asked her as I picked her up into my arms

Ziva: I thought I was your favorite girl

"Your both my favorite" I told her before leaning over and kissing her lips "what did the two of you do all day?" I asked ziva

Ziva: I actually wasn't feeling too well, so Jenny took her out and they had quite the day together while I went to see the doctor

"Is everything okay Zi" I asked woriedly

Ziva: we will talk later yes?

"I actually have sone time now. Bishop do you mind keeping an eye in on Tali for a few minutes? We'll be right back' I told her

Ellie: sure Tony, I love spending time with her

I handed Tali off to bishop and headed into the elevator with Ziva. We took a walk down to the park not too farron the navy base where we sat on a bench together "so what's going on? Is the baby okay?" I asked so deri g why she needed to see a doctor today

Ziva: the baby's fine Tony, I just needed something for my nausea. I'm only a few weeks along so I had questions because this pregnancy is very different, but she told me not to worry. We're both fine

"In happy to hear that and listen, I want to be there for everything g this time around. I missed so much with Tali and it's okay, but next time call me and I'll be there" I told her

Ziva: I'm sorry. I did not want to bother you over nothing. Next time I will call you

"I didn't mean to make you feel bad. I just want to be here for everything" I stated

Ziva: I know you do and you will be. I never wanted to hurt you keeping Tali away. I made a mistake and it won't happen again

"There's no need to apologize for that anymore, I'm here now and that's what matters most. I don't want to live in the past when we have our entire future together and out future is what I waned to talk to you about" I told her

Ziva: okay, what is it you want to discuss?

"You and me. I've been trying to figure out a way to say this for the past few weeks. Zi I've never been happier in my life that this time I've had with you. Your the only woman I can see myself with, your the only woman that makes me smile for no reason at all. I've let a lot of time pass between us and I won't make that mistake ever again, so Ziva David.............. Will you marry me?" I asked her bended down on one knee holding the now open box with the diamond ring inside. She had tears in her eyes looking down on me as I waited for her answer

Ziva: yes

That one word brought an instant smile to my face as I took the ring from the box placing it onto her finger before kissing her lips "I love you so much" I told her

Ziva: I love you too and this was an unexpected surprise, but I love it

"I'm glad, have you eaten yet?" I asked knowing how sick she's been

Ziva: I have, but I'm craving pizza. I don't know why I'm so hungry today

"Your growing a tiny person I side if you. Let's go get you and my little girl or guy some pizza" I said as we headed down to the little restaurant across the street. We talked about our day and I know it seems like the usual conversation between a couple, but today felt so special to me. I just got engaged to the love of my life and happy doesn't begin to describe how I'm feeling right now. Today was perfect
