34. For my girls

Tony's POV

Our homecoming went well, the team were all excited to see us and we met some new friends which is always a good thing, but the office just didn't seem the same to me. after being home with my girls for so long I finally understand why Ziva didn't want to put herself on the line like she used to. I want something safer for myself because I want to see my kids grown up. A job that will have me home in time to get my girls from school

It's hard walking away from my team, which is why I decided to take on the job of training officer to the new recruits. No more putting myself on the and fewer hours, best part of all I get to work alongside my wife everyday.

The training area is in the office, so I'll still be seeing the team everyday which is an added bonus because these guys are my family

Ziva: Tony are you sure your ready to give up the field work? It's been your life for so long. Tony I don't want you doing this just for my sake

"I'm positive that this is what I want, and its not just for you. This is for my girls, It's also a new adventure we can take on together and training the new guys should be fun" I told her "most importantly it will be risk free"

Ziva: that is what sold me on the idea, but your gonna be on your own in a few months

"Are you not planning on staying long?" I asked confused at her response

Ziva: no, I'll have to take a break for my maternity leave

It took a while for her words to register, but once it did I couldn't help but smile "another little DiNozzo? That's why you've been feeling sick lately?" I asked

Ziva: yes. I finally made it to the doctors to confirm my suspicions. I missed two periods, it was going on my third and I'm never nauseous, only when I'm pregnant. Are you upset I didnt tell you right away?

"How could I be upset? All you ever do is make me happy. Marrying you was the smartest decision I've ever made" I told her before kissing her lips. Before Ziva I didn't want kids, and now here I am so excited that our family's growing

Ziva: I didn't want to find out the baby's gender without you. Last time they made a mistake, but the process is simplified now. They can determined through a blood test.

"I know how badly you want a baby boy. I just don't want you to be disappointed if its another girl' I explained

Ziva: I wasn't disappointed with Katie being a girl. I wouldn't change her for anything and I'd be happy if this baby turns out to be a boy or girl. The reason I want a son so badly is because I want a little you running around the house, no matter what I'm happy

"Me too, how far along are you?" I asked

Ziva: 12 weeks we've got about 28 more to go before our newest DiNozzo makes his or her appearance. Senior went along with me to the doctors office so he knows, we just need to tell the girls

"Are you sure that's a good idea? We don't have to do it so soon" I told her

Ziva: your worried about how Katie will take not being daddy's baby anymore, but I think the sooner we explain to them what's happening the better for us all

"Your right" I took her hand and led her down into the living room where the girls sat with senior watching cartoons. After turning off the television to gain their attention we took a seat beside them both

Tali: I want to see Cinderella

"You will in a minute. Your Ima and I had something we want to tell you both and we need you to listen" I told them

Tali: are we getting a puppy?

Ziva: no, we're not getting a puppy. Your dad and I are going to have another baby. Katie you get to be a big sister

Tali: if we get a puppy the baby can play with him too

"Okay pumpkin, we'll get a puppy for you since you've been such a good girl lately, but you have to feed him and give him baths. He'll be like your baby, can you handle that?"

Tali: yes, but I want a girl puppy.

"You drive a hard bargain but okay, girl puppy it is. Does this mean you won't need kelev anymore?" I asked

Tali: yes I need my kelev daddy. Kelev is my best friend in the whole entire world

"I thought I was your best friend, but alright. Katie are you excited for the new baby?"

Caitlin: no baby

"Hey, I know its going to be different having another little person around, but no matter what your Ima and I will always love you and your sister. Your our ninja and Tali's our princess, I don't think either of you can ever be replaced" I explained before picking her up. She's still a baby, but I know she understands what I mean

Caitlin: I love daddy

"Daddy loves you too baby" I kissed her cheek "alrght, we're meeting the team for brunch so we should head out. We can watch Cinderella when we get back" I told them as we headed out to the car. Senior strapped them both in and sat in the back with them while Ziva sat up from with me. I had a feeling that this was going to be a very interesting Sunday brunch
