35. The Castle family

Ziva's POV

We stepped into the Gibbs house around three in the afternoon for lunch with the team. We'd planned a brunch for noon,but Jen got a little busy with work

After greeting usnat the door Jenny led us down into the living room where the team sat socializing, but what caught my attention was the brunette in the corner. She sat at the piano quietly gazing thought the window. Her very long curly dark hair hung down her back. She wore an all white pants suit that hugged her tiny frame complimenting her figure and cherry red stilettos that matched her lips

The moment she spun around I immediately recognized her as senator Beckett's daughter. The child who unwillingly took a bullet to the chest and nearly died in the office I once thought of as a safe place. I was happy to see that she looked 100% better from the last we saw her, which I thought was amazing. I guess she's about as strong as her mother

Jenny: I'm sure you all remember Kara Castle, Kara this is the DiNozzo family. Anthony DiNozzo senior and junior, Tony's wife Ziva and their two girls Tali and Caitlin

Kara: it's a pleasure to meet you all

Jenny: you don't have to be so formal, we're all family here and since I have you for a week you'll get to know then much better

Kara: I'm looking forward to it, now if you'll excuse me I should be getting out of the way of whatever it is you have going on down here

Jenny: don't even try that, your staying. You and dani can go to the mall another day and Kara you know your babysitting

Dani: he's fast asleep and his mom's on her way for him

Just as she said that the sound of a baby's cries filled the room over the baby monitor that sat on the coffee table

Jenny: you were saying?

Kara: he's probably looking around for mommy. I'll go get him and dani can be the one who hears I told you so this time

She headed upstairs while we went ahead and took our seats on the couch. When she returned in her arms was a smiling baby boy. He had a head full of curly dark hair and the brightest most beautiful pair of green eyes. He was such a precious sight, with a smile as captivating as his mother's. "Can I hold him?" I asked and she handed him over only to have him make him fuss

"It's okay buddy" I cooed while gently rocking him in my arms until his cries stopped and his smile returned

Tony: your really good at that

"I've had a lot of practice" I informed her not loosing eye contact with Jack "I really want one of these" I confessed

Tony: I know, and you'll get your wish. I have a strong feeling we're having a boy this time around

Abby: you guys are having another baby?!!

Her loud outburtst caught the attention of the entire team who then congratulated tony and I after I confirmed that it was indeed true. I did t plan on telling them so soon, but I guess now is a good time since we're all here together

Abby: Ziva this is really great news, but I'm sorry for ruining the surprise. I just got so excited seeing that baby and hearing you talk about wanting a little boy

"It's okay Abby. Tony and I are very excited for another child together and if it's a girl or boy it wouldn't matter because we already have so much love for this child" I informed her bringing a smile to her face

Abby: I'm really happy for you and really excited to be an aunt again

We all takes for a while over lunch, I kept jack almost the entire day not wanting to let go of the little guy until the infamous Katherine Beckett walked in with her husband beside her

Jack squealed in delight when he caught sight of his mom, reaching out for her to take him. It was the most adorable thing ever watching their interactions, because she's was just as happy to see him

Jack: mama!

Kate: baby! Mommy missed you so much

She picked him up and kissed his cheeks making him erupt into a fit of laughter "if you took any longer I might have kidnapped that baby" I confessed "he's so sweet" I continued

Kate: it's hard not to fall completely in love with this little guy. Today is the longest we've been apart in his entire five and a half months of being here and I felt like I was going crazy without him. The one child that actually wants me around all the time

Kara: I never said I didn't want you around, I said I needed to figure things out on my own. All my life you and I have been inseparable, your my best friend and the coolest mom ever, but you do everything for me. I just turned eighteen and I realized that I don't even pick out my own clothes. I depend on you for everything when that's not how I want to live my life. Me moving to Los Angeles won't be the end of the world, your there all the time and I'll be close to aunt Kensi and uncle Marty so I'll be okay. Even though I've never had you. You taught me how to take care of myself pretty well, I'll just be there for school

Kate: that's still pretty far from home, but like you said your an adult and a pretty responsible one so I'll try to learn how to manage not having you around everyday.

Rick: you could be an adult and still spend the weekend in Paris with Alexis and us

Kara: Aiden's here for the week, so I'm good staying. Your gonna miss your flight if you hang around for too long

Jenny: she's right, and you can bring that baby back here anytime

Kate: trust me I'll have more babies for you to keep pretty soon. I want more of these and I'll be back here in a week

Rick: bye care bear, don't have too much fun without me

Kara: that's impossible. By daddy

She gave both her parents a hug goodbye before they headed out with baby Jack. The castle family may be different having a adventurous father figure and professional mother figure, but together they make great parents and have themselves on incredibly strong young woman. If I could be half the mom kate is I'd be happy
