"And here we are." Brad smiled at me as we pulled up to our destination.

I squealed like a little child when I saw the location.

"We're going to the fair?!" I asked while I yanked my seat belt off.

Brad chuckled.

"I haven't even turned off the car and you're already bursting to get out." He said as he turned the key to his car.

"It's just... Well I haven't been to a fair in so long! The last time was before my dad..." I drifted off on the thought of my dad.

"Cait?" Brad asked. His voice sounded panicked and I was wondering why he was freaking out so much.

"What?" I asked.

"Cait, you're crying, are you okay?" He asked.

"Oh fuck, I- this doesn't usually happen-" I raised my hand to wipe the stupid tears but flinched when Brad did instead.

"Cait, I won't hurt you." He said as he wiped my tears.

"I know, I just..." I sighed in frustration.

I seriously wasn't used to a boys attention like this and the last time a guy I thought "liked" me touched me, he was kicking me out two seconds after.

Can someone tell me why I'm on this date in the first place?

"Are you okay though?" Brad asked me. He looked genuinely concerned.

It was probably fake.

"Yes." I said straight-forwardly.

"Okay listen to me Cait. I want you to know that everything is going to be okay. I don't know what's going on, and you don't have to tell me either, but If you need a shoulder to cry on, I'm right here." Brad said.

I didn't look him directly in his eyes, but I nodded.

"Ready to go?" He asked me softly.

I put my head up, nodded, snd smiled brightly like I just had the biggest recovery.

"Good." He said. He got out and opened my door for me and looked me up and down again for the 10th time since we first saw each other.

"I can't even get over how great you look." He smiled, making me blush and mumble a thank you.

"Now lets go have some fun."

We spent the next hours pushing our selves through crowds and laughing at the most stupid things. The games were really adorable and we even rode on a carousel. And being the lame person I am, while we were at the top I started singing "Carousel" by Melanie Martinez at the top of my lungs. It really was a blast.

"Thanks for winning me this bear." I held the bear in my hand like a trophy while Brad walked on side of me.

We've been out for hours actually. Thank god the sun wasn't blazing today. It was pretty cloudy but felt great. Also, the fair looked amazing at night. All the rides were lit up and the music was really cute. This date was pretty amazing. Nothing could go wrong.

And thats when I heard someone that sounded very familiar.

Too familiar.

"Yeah and dude, she was totally asking for it!" I heard as we walked around the corner to a tent. I guess there was an act happening there.

"Oh no..." I muttered.

"What, whats wrong?" Brad stopped in his tracks.

And right as we stopped, he walked right into us.

"Watch where the fuck you're- Oh."

"Dillon." I growled in anger.

Of course he was here! Of all nights this fair has been open this week (They only open them weeks at a time) he had to be here this night!

"What? You're not happy to see me?" Dillon smirked. He was with a group of guys, and one girl. Her arm was strapped around one guys waist and she eyed me up and down very rudely.

"No, I'm not happy to see you." I crossed my arms angrily over the huge bear.

Dillon fake pouted and his lame friends just laughed.

Poor Brad. Ive never seen him look more confused. I really didn't want him getting into this Dillon mess.

"So who's this?" Dillon smirked at Brad like he was the biggest joke he has ever seen and Brad crossed his arms and did the same.

"I'm Brad. I guess you're Dillon?" He asked.

"That's me." Dillon said, trying to look a little tougher.

Gosh guys are so stupid.

"I'm on a date so if you would kindly move..." I pushed Dillon past, but he blocked my path.

"Dude, you heard her. We're on a date. Move." Brad spit.

"Oh looky looky, Mr. Tough Guy is ready to pounce." Dillon smirked.

Of course his fuck boy friends started laughing.

"You better shut your dumb ass up or I'm gonna-"

"Brad, can we please just walk away." I said softly. When Brad saw the look in my eyes he immediately backed off.

He walked away first, his shoulder bumping brutally into Dillon and like a little puppy, I followed behind, trying to catch up.

"I'm so sorry." I told him as we reached his car.

"Don't be. I had to deal with guys like him last year." He said.

"He just acts like that and he won't get off my case and it's like I see him everywhere and it's so annoying!" I got into the car and waited for Brad to drive off.

"I'll gladly beat his ass for you." He laughed.

And I also laughed, but picturing them fighting in my head and Brad winning didn't give me as much satisfaction as I thought it would.
