"So class pop quiz today!" the sound of my history teacher annoyed me.
His enthusiasm killed me. Don't get me wrong, history was one of my favourite subject but his voice on Monday morning first period, just did my head in.
I felt as if the time was purposely going slow to try and irritate me even more. Tapping my pen my head ran away in the clouds. My imagination seemed to role in. As I looked outside I saw a man and a women standing outside hugging, him pressing small pecks on the side of her head. It made me feel like there was a empty hole in the bottom of my heart. Feeling as if I could relate to that feeling. Well the feeling of having that person there constantly, protecting me and keeping me safe from danger. But now it had felt as if it had all gone, in a blink of an eye.
I tried to shake off that apprehension, the knowing of the familiar feeling.
The lunch bell rang seemed to fly by. I couldn't wait to just see my friends and just forget about any form of education.
"Hey Liv!" Grace said as she put he lunch tray down in front of me.
"Hey Gray" I smiled eating my P&B sandwich.
We all began to talk and have a normal conversation. Like normal teenagers do. That's when I saw him. Casper. He came over to me to the table, giving me direct contact.
He was the classic hotty that everyone wanted to date. But he was up his own backside so no one really liked him. It was only because of his popularity with in the school. Everyone was a afraid of him. Apart from me of course. I wasn't afraid to speak my mind to him.
"So Olvia" he began winking, which did make me blush. "Wanna go on a date?"
"Why would I want to go on a date with you" I said trying to flirt but it came out more as an insult.
"Why wouldn't you? I mean look at me" he gestured to his body.
I rolled my eyes. Meanwhile my friends were nodding there heads, encouraging me to say yes.
"Fine whatever" I brushed it off. "I'll go on a date with you"
"Meet me at the park at 7?" He smiled as he stood up. "Bring a blanket"
I smiled and watched him walk away.
"Woah!" Hazel, my other best friend grinned. "He is one sexy guy"
We all laughed at her reaction. Lunch went pretty quickly, and it seemed we were all going on to head back into our classrooms.
Double History with Mr Light was probably the highlight of the day.
"In 1940 World War Two began as Hitler would refuse to hand Poland back over" he began. "After Hitler had be let off with taking over Czechoslovakia, which is known as the Czech Republic today, he decided to take over Austria then Poland"
I listened carefully when I felt a pain in my head. It wouldn't stop giving a burning sensation. I put my fingers to my temples rubbing them slowly to relieve the pain but it was no use.
I looked at the time and saw the hands twisting around like it was broken and time was flying about. I closed my eyes afraid on what was happening to my head.
"Miss Scrubb!" Mr Light yelled.
I jolted awake and looked to him.
"Am I boring you?" He glared and I gulped shaking my head no.
"No sir" I mumbled embarrassed.
He carried on and I looked at the board. Last period was nearly here and it was English literature another of my favourite subjects.
Mrs Lord was an amazing teacher, with the heart of gold. Most people disliked her strongly but I thought she was extraordinary teacher.
As we entered her class room Mrs Lord greeted us with a hand out. We sat down and the lesson began. Bringing my imagination to my main focus. I forgot about everything else and concentrated. Literature was like magic to me. In the sense that it could take you away and cause your mind to think many things.
As soon as the bell rang everyone rushed out the class room. I on the other hand had a book I needed to give back to Mrs Lord. She frequently gave me them every month or so, giving me the challenge to read it.
"Olivia, I have this incredible book written by the author called C.S Lewis called, The Voyage Of The Dawn Treader" She smiled. "I think you will enjoy it."
She put the book on the top of my bag and I zipped it up putting the bag on my shoulder. I thanked her and began to walk back home.
"Mum! Dad! I'm home!" I yelled as I took my shoes off.
"Okay darling were in the living room" mum answered. "You have a visiter Liv"
I walked slowly in the room to see Casper sat there with a smirk on his face.
"Ready for our date?" He asked.
"I'm still in my uniform" I laughed. "So no, give me two minutes"
I ran upstairs and grabbed my outfit. It consisted of: my black super skinny jeans; my white crop top and a pink champagne bomber jacket I had just purchased. I put my hair down from the pony tail and brushed it. Luckily for me my hair was straight.
I came downstairs with my school back. I put the books out of my bag and placed them on my bed. As I picked up the novel by C.S Lewis the pages turned and landed on a picture.
A picture of a man. The man was standing with his arms wrapped around a women kissing the side of her cheek. My heart fluttered and a pain of loss ran through my veins. I fell to the ground and stared at the book. What was it doing to me?
I brushed it all off wanting to just get the date over with. I went downstairs and Casper held my arm, walking me to his car.
My mind went back to that man in the book. He felt so familiar put I couldn't think.
What was happening to me?
