It was brought to my attention that you guys might need a little reminder of what is happening in the story. My bad- I definitely took ages to update, I can admit that. So to refresh you guys (and myself) on what is going on, here is a brief summary of the relevant characters that are involved in the story and what they are up to:
Characters-
Sami: 16, main character, bubbly, warm, lovable. Honey hair & blue eyes. Hands out Hershey kisses on Mondays and loves to brighten other people's days, even when her own days are terrible. She was neglected by her parents, abandoned by her sister, and the only person she has ever relied on in the world is her brother Caleb, who passed away. She is in the process of being illegal emancipated from her parents, since they are no longer part of her life.
Ashton: 17, characteristically unhappy, snippy, and disinterested. Brown hair & brown eyes. Constantly annoyed by Sami's happiness she exudes, but is nonetheless intrigued. His father is Sami's lawyer for her emancipation process.
Jenny: café owner, Sami's mentor so to say
Anna: Sami's cousin, always rude & ignores Sami
Isaac: friend of Sami's who used to be bullied by Anna
Carissa: Sami's older sister -- just reappeared after ditching Sami eight years ago, reason to be determined
After a rough life so far, sixteen year old Sami's life was finally looking up a few chapters ago. She had friends in Ashton, Jenny, and Isaac. Things start to get disrupted, though, when Sami's estranged sister suddenly reappeared.
