My drawings and artwork!

VIDEO PROOF I'M NOT AN ART THEIF! :3 (for those who have doubted...)

Well hello again you wonderful people! ^^

This chapter is going to be a little different than my usual chapters with a photo of a drawing/artwork of mine
And a writeup of whatever i decided to share.

This chapter is about being accused of art theft. D:

This is something that has happened quite a few times over the past few months.

People assume that because they see a few different signatures on my drawings that they arent mine...that I'm stealing. :(

But this isn't the case at all...

As stated in the title at the end of this chapter there is video proof that i have filmed specifically for this chapter for solid evidence.

Its definitely LONG overdue that i explain why some of my drawings are labeled with two different signatures. (And usually a watermark saying TheVelveteenChibi alongside those signatures.)

I know some viewers are still sceptical as to weather the drawings labled "HiddenGem" are mine or not.

I can't say i really blame you. There's a lot of art theft out there.

And some of the pictures that I've shared on here show another name on my drawings besides my wattpad username.

HiddenGem IS me though. I promise you that.

And I'm about to prove it and explain why I've used different signatures.

Heres the thing.

The only reason i sometimes upload photos with the username tag "HiddenGem" is because those photos with that particular nametag were taken long before i had a wattpad account.

before i thought of the name "TheVelveteenChibi"

Also back when i still used deviantart very activly,  i wanted to put a tag on my drawings without actually writing down the name directly onto the paper. (Although in some cases i did write HiddenGem onto the paper with the drawing.)

I haven't used deviantart activly for a while now though...I mostly just use wattpad now.

Because guess what...people were stealing my artwork on deviantart so i didn't want to keep uploading there. I haven't been active on it for over half a year. :( 

So...when i wanted to share my "old" drawings to wattpad (from my deviantart days.)
I was just to lazy to go though all my drawings, take a new photo without the nametag on there, and upload that when i already had a perfectly good photo sitting in my phone's gallery of the drawing. It can be difficult taking crystal clear photos of a drawing with a cell phone...

(Color me lazy. Lol XD )

The full deviantart username is actually Xx-HiddenGem-xX but again...for the nametag i was to lazy and left out the X's and hyphens...also the carboard was to short to fit it all on with decent sized letters. 😅

Laziness abounds!

But come on...who wouldn't want to leave their X's out of everything??
*cough* sorry. *cough* bad joke. DX

So now some people might be wondering..."well sometimes i see drawings with this signature too! Not just HiddenGem!

This answer is also very simple.

This drawing of Ittoki Otoya is pretty recent compared to my older deviantart drawings tagged with HiddenGem. I drew this one back in March 2016 if memory serves correctly. 

Back when i used deviantart i didn't have an artist signature. I hadn't created one yet.

Back then i just had my deviantart username.

But last year (i think around the time i drew that Yato drawing)
i created one.
One that didn't have the name "HiddenGem" in it because i was no longer very active on deviantart and i wanted my real name to be in this new signature.

Aka the signature you see in the Ittoki otoya drawing above.

That's my new signature. My real life one...not one with an online name.
This signature holds my last name. So it's much more personal? I suppose.

Which is why it doesn't say "TheVelveteenChibi" or "HiddenGem"

This signature in the ittoki otoya drawing actually says "Ecker" with a "C" surrounding it. "C" being the first letter of my first name. And Ecker being my last name.

But in all honesty I'm really trying hard to figure out what name to stick with so that i can change all media sites to the same name...so that this stops happening.

It's just much easier if you use one name for all "social" media sites. And that way I'll also stop being accused of art theft...

But I'm sort of stuck...
I love the name "HiddenGem" because there's special meaning behind it for me as to why i chose that specific name. so it holds sentimentality.

But i also equally love TheVelveteenChibi...there's just something about it that makes me want to hold on to it and i can't really picture having a name besides that one on here. So i really want to keep it.

I really don't want to change my wattpad username... ;n;
I like TheVelveteenChibi...

But i also like HiddenGem!!! Arg!
(I've never been good at picking favorites DX lol)

I have created this account on youtube specifically for filming this video to provide the best possible proof i can give to you guys. :)

So hopefully this is enough proof for the sceptics, But yeah! Hopefully the whole different signature thing makes a little more sense now!
I'll try to be more consistent with what signature i use in the future!
