So right back at the start of this book, I talked briefly about appearance and how some writers go overboard with the physical description. What I've noticed recently from reading a few books is that some writers literally have pages describing exactly what their character is wearing. And the outfit isn't even important to the plot, it's just the outfit the character is wearing.

Your reader doesn't need to know what you're character is wearing every second unless it is important to the plot. Maybe if your character is wearing a wedding dress it would be acceptable to describe it a bit, but no one cares about your character's 'white crop top from topshop with high-waisted blue jeans and a pair of white vans'. (Damn Daniel, where you at?)

These kind of descriptions indicate to your reader that your character's physical appearance is more important than what's going on in their brain. So instead of talking about the 'Brandy Melville floral dress' they're wearing or the 'burgundy jumper from TopMan', talk about your character's emotions and feelings.
