"What's that noise?" Corin asks as we all sit down again, somewhat sweaty in the chilled club but all grinning like idiots. Especially us women, knowing exactly what we had done to the guys.

"What noise baby?" Micah asks from next to me, her slightly Russian accent making it hard to hear her over the music.

He pauses, obviously straining to hear whatever noise he'd just heard.

"That one." He says slowly as a door bursts open and a blood-curdling scream filters into the room, easily heard even over the top of the music.

There's no way that was a part of a song.

Ivan leans over to me as I slide a knife out of my thigh highs.

He hands me a gun he took out of the back of his jeans as he removes another that had been hidden beneath his jacket.

"Text your father."

I nod my head at him and slide my phone out of my bag as my group slide out of the booth and into the shadows crowding the wall, Ivan on my left, Micha and Corin on my right as Dimitri, his partner Dresden with Alec and Luis head in the opposite direction but still stick close to the walls, blending in with the shadows as the music dies down and people begin murmuring, wondering what the hell was going on. Good thing the youth of Miami's best gang in here.

LIV nightclub. Fontainebleau Miami Beach, 4441 Collins Ave.

I shove my phone back in my purse and take the safety off of my gun. Everyone inside the V.I.P area were slowly beginning to move, most likely starting to think that it was just a hoax, some person messing around with the sound system.

A bang resounds out in the silence and everyone screams and ducks for cover as more muffled shots come, gradually getting louder.

No, no, no, not again.

Ivan looks at me, almost as if he knows what's going on through my head.

"We have to start getting these people out." He whispers in the silence that follows the shots.

I nod and motion to the people closest to me, who upon seeing the gun in my hand, gather closer together but scuttle towards me.

"Make your way to the fire exit. Quickly, quietly. Get as many people with you as you can. Go. Call the cops. And an ambulance." I whisper out the orders hurriedly and all the males nod, some recognising who I am and knowing automatically that this was no prank if we had our weapons out.

My father made no secret of the gang and the Miami council made no move to eradicate us, knowing we were the only thing preventing major gang violence.

"Go."

They all moved at once, not even bothering to go back to their tables to gather their things, but moving towards the marked fire escape, picking up more people as they moved towards it.

I look around, noticing Dimitri and Dresden had crept closer to the door that the attackers would come through once they were done with trashing the next room.

I quickly pull my phone back out of my purse, seeing two messages. One from papa:

Get people out.

I almost roll my eyes at the order. Like, no, I was just going to use the innocents here for a good time away from the stresses of high parental expectations and society pressure as a shield from the shits tearing up our club.

The second was from an unknown number.

You'll pay for what you did.

"Ivan." I hiss.

He turns and looks at me, cocking an eyebrow in response.

"It's that gang."

"How do you kn-" He's cut off as hushed German commands can be heard outside the door, Dresden and Dimitri backing away from the door and taking the safety off of their guns. I toss my phone back into my purse and sling the strap over my head, turning it into a crossbody instead a shoulder bag.

I'll never use shoulder bags again if this thing stays out of my way.

I vow and my conscience nods her head in agreement.

I can't believe this is happening again. And one night off of 2 years as well.

Nicely timed you assholes.

This was all nicely timed, nicely planned, I'll give them that much.

But, fuck, I hated them for this.

I look around the room and almost sag in relief at the sight of the empty room and the fire door clicking shut.

Thank god.

The door bursts open and they stroll in, looking around at the empty room.

"She's in here somewhere." A voice with a heavy German accent hisses.

"Are you sure?" Another voice, louder, almost as if they'd given up being discreet.

"I watched her walk into the garage with Ivan and leave the house. I overheard their discussion about where they were going while she was getting ready."

Ivan and I both freeze.

NO.

That voice.

It can't.

"Come on out Little Fighter. I know you're here. You never run from a fight."

Ivan looks at me, his eyes screaming at me to not fall for it.

But I couldn't let this go.

Couldn't let this happen. Wouldn't let this happen. They didn't deserve this.

I step out of the shadows of a booth, gun loaded, pointing straight at the group.

A body turns towards me, grinning, startling blue eyes sparkling, blonde hair ruffled.

"He wouldn't have wanted this, Kleiner Bruder," I say softly, watching as the glee fades from his eyes, replaced by anger and grief.

"Don't you dare call me, I won't ever be that to you. It's your fault. It's all your fault." He snarls at me, face changing from a familiar to something overrun by the need for closer and revenge.

"He loved me, Elijah."

"I don't care, you killed him."

"Alexis don't." Ivan cautions me from where he'd crept out of the shadows and was now standing beside me, lifting up his own gun when I lowered my own.

"Elijah, stop this, please. Go home. Mourn him and try to live without him. He'll always be your brother, but he's gone. If it weren't for the people standing behind you, he'd still be here, but he isn't. And I wish it was me."

The gang behind him shuffle, some shooting pissed off looks at me for ratting them out, and I see a flicker of doubt cross Blue's face.

A sound rings out from the next room and the leader steps forward.

"Reider, hurry up and end this bitch so we can go home." He drawls out, grinning at me.

"Oh cute, I'm sure you can do better than bitch, you coward." I dish out the sass, drawing out the time as I hear the slight movements of Dad's gang sweeping the other room for a trap.

The leaders face colours in rage and I grin at him.

No German in a gang can stand being called a coward, let alone the leader of the gang.

Our time is nearly up.

He snarls at me and Elijah tightens his grip on the gun as papa's gang burst into the room and the rest of the gang whirls around, guns firing, knives flying.

Startled, Elijah's finger tightens on the gun, the first shot going wide, but close enough to cause Ivan to twirl in front of me before a second shot sounds and Ivan's eyes widen as his body jerks forward before he collapses to his knees.

Someone screams.

I think it was me.
