"Ivan. Ivan please, keep your eyes open." I beg him, cradling his body to mine where I had collapsed to the floor beside him.

I look around me and see Mikhail running for us, gun out shooting anyone who moved that didn't belong to our gang.

I look down at Ivan, his open eyes glazed with pain and hope, pray to whatever fucked up deity was out there that things happened differently this time.

"I'm sorry, I'm so sorry, this is all my fault. I'm so sorry." I nearly choke on a sob building in my chest as I say the words.

"Not. Your... Fault." He gets out, his voice laced with pain.

It was only when Mikhail gets to us and is standing over us that I notice that Elijah and his leader have slipped off in the initial moments of panic when guns started going off and knives started finding targets.

"Alexis, call 911. Give them the address, ask for the paramedics and cops. Tell them it's near fatal" Mikhail orders and I do it without question, wondering how he's remaining so calm while his son could potentially die.

"911, operator. What is your emergency?" The calm, soothing tone of the male operator speaks into my ear.

"There's been a shooting at LIV nightclub. Fontainebleau Miami Beach, 4441 Collins Ave. We need the paramedics and the police. Please hurry, we need help." I almost sob.

"We'll send help immediately. We need you to remain calm. Can you answer some questions for us?"

I reply with a shaky yes as he launches into the protocol questions.

"What's your name and age?" The man remains calm, though now there's an underlying current of urgency in his voice.

"Alexis Volkov, age 19."

"Are you injured? Do you know how many are injured?"

"No, I am not injured, I can give a rough estimate of around," I break off and look around at the people lying on the ground, "10 people injured, mostly gunshot wounds."

"Is the person still around?"

"It wasn't a person. It was a gang." I whisper as the room goes quiet, and my dad's gang starts to check people for pulses.

Mikhail notices that line and looks at me.

"Tell them the wolf is here."

"Ma'am are you still there?" I realise the man had asked me another question.

"Yes, sorry."

"Would you be able to identify what gang it was, or were there multiple gangs?" He asks me, not for the first time obviously.

"The wolf is here." Even as I say it, I realise this man is obviously in the know about the gangs, probably in papa's given the brisk way he ends the call.

"Help is on the way, ma'am. Stay calm."
"Thank you." I pull the phone away and end the call.

I look down at Ivan again and see him smiling at me, despite the fact that his shirt, my dress was soaked through with his blood.

"You're scaring me, smiling at me like that," I tell him and his grin widens but doesn't reply.

"Can you move your hands?" I ask him, a frown forming on my face.

He nods slightly.

"Can you point to where you got shot."

He moves his hands and points to just under his collarbone in the left side of his body.
