Reader's P.O.V
A howl echoed through the woods, causing everyone to freeze and poor little Bilbo’s eyes to widen. Okay, I say ‘little’ but really Bilbo and I were about the same height but he was still small in my eyes as well as being inexperienced and attractive. I let out a cough clearing those thoughts from my mind. Even if I did like the hobbit, he could never like me back and my father, Dwalin, would more than likely frown upon the idea.
“Was that a wolf? Ar-are there wolves out there?”
“Wolves? No, that is not a wolf.”
I drew my sword from it’s sheath, spinning around at the sound of a branch snapping, the warg pouncing from his position right at Dori. A small yelp escaped my lips as Thorin killed the beast, Kili putting an arrow in the other one's head with my father finishing it off. The sword made a disgusting noise as Thorin pulled the blade from the corpse.
“Warg scouts, which means an orc pack is not far behind.”
My lips twitched into a small smile when Bilbo had to confirm that he did say ‘orc pack’. I blocked out the rest of the conversation as I walked over to our burglar and placed a hand on his shoulder, feeling him tense at my initial touch but calm once he realised he was in no danger from me.
“It’s okay master Bilbo, we’ll think of something.”
He turned around and looked into my (e/c) eyes, a glimmer of hope and something else flashing in his own. Returning my attention back to the conversation, I heard Radagast announce he was going to lead them away.
“These are Gundabad wargs, they will outrun you.”
“And these are rustabell rabbits. I’d like to see them try.”

My breathing was ragged and short as we ran across the open plains. I stayed close to Bilbo, not wanting to risk him getting hurt, I felt to strongly for him and it would cause me too much pain if he got hurt.
Risking a look behind, I watched as the wargs were gaining ground. Looking in front of me, I saw more wargs and orcs. We were surrounded. I stood by my father, my blade drawn, the dwarven steel glinting in the light, whilst keeping an eye on Bilbo in my peripheral vision.
“This way you fools.”
I turned sharply to look at Gandalf who had popped up from in between some rocks. The company started to move over to the gap, jumping down one by one. It was almost my turn when an animalistic growl sounded from behind me and a sharp pain erupted in my side. A scream escaped my lips as the warg’s teeth sank deeper.
“(Y/N)! NO!”
I listened to the shouts from Bilbo and my father as my vision went blurry and the world started to turn black.

Bilbo’s P.O.V
I looked down at (Y/N), her hair splayed across the pillow, new clothes adorning her body, flattering her curves and making her look absolutely stunning. I let out a sigh, she was too perfect and could never love a small hobbit like me who prefers books and gardening compared to weapons and forging. She had been unconscious for 2 days now and I was beginning to wonder if she was ever going to wake up. A tear slipped out of my eye as the thought of her dying came into my mind, it would hurt me a lot more if she died, more than seeing her with another man.
“Bilbo? Why are you crying?”
I looked up in shock, my eyes meeting the caring (e/c) ones of (Y/N).
“You're awake. You are actually awake!”
A small smile curved onto her lips as happiness flowed through me. Well its now or never Bilbo.
“I've missed you. I love you (Y/N).”
Her eyes widened slightly before her smile grew even wider.
“Come here.”
I shuffled over to her, nervous she didn't feel the same way. She wrapped her arms around my neck, her lips dangerously close to my own.
“I love you too Bilbo.”
And with those words her lips pressed against my own, sending my heart racing. I loved her, she loved me and nothing could stop that.
