"You're alive?!" Ella said. She stood up and hugged Kyra. Kyra hugged her back end for that moment. Ella didn't feel so alone anymore. She felt like she could connect with someone as if Kyra came from the outside world.
"I'm so thirsty. Have you guys got any water? Like a good source?" Kyra asked.
Maverick pointed to the stream.
Kyra dove at the water and drank to her hearts content. Once
she was finished she sat up and wiped water off her chin. "So who is this man?"
Ella smiled. "This is Maverick. He was a pilot who survived. Do you know if anyone else survived?"
Kyra looked down. A tear streamed down her face. "It was horrible. There was a mother holding a child. I heard the child cry and whimper I came but some animal came and..." She put a hand up to her mouth. "The agonized scream. Then it cut off"
Ella sat closer to Kyra. "It's alright. You did what you could. We haven't seen anyone either."
