"Bill, that's cheating." You said, crossing your arms.

"It's not cheating." He said defensively, looking up from the board and meeting your eyes.

"Yeah, it is." You countered. "You can't just ignore the number you spin just because you don't want to go down the slide."

"But it's the longest slide." He tried to reason with you. "If I go down that slide I'll be back at the bottom."

Monty rolled his eyes and picked up Bill's piece and moved it to the end of the slide. He then picked up the small cardboard wheel and handed it over to you.

It was a stormy day in Gravity Falls, which typically meant a day to just relax and watch Netflix. But, when the power went out and you got bored from scrolling through social media and watching for cats in Neko Atsume intensely, Monty came up with the brilliant idea to play Chutes and Ladders.

After hunting for your best scented candles and setting them up around the table in the living room, the three of you kneeled around it.

The rain could be heard coming down on the roof, and there would be occasional flashes of lightning and rumblings of thunder. However, it was all very calm. Peaceful, almost.

And Monty and Bill were getting along better simply because Monty liked thunderstorms, and there being one put him in a better mood.

"Five." You announced after the pointer landed on the number.

You moved your piece, and much to your dismay, landed on a slide. You sighed and moved down from 90, all the way back to 68, putting Monty in the lead.

He took the spinner from you and flicked the pointer, and you and Bill watched with nervous anticipation to see what he would land on. Just as the pointer landed, Monty jumped up in victory and Bill threw himself back onto the carpet. Your head landed roughly on the table.

"Three! Just what I needed to get to 89!" Monty said happily. "And, oh, would you look at that? A ladder straight up to one hundred."

"I hate you. I really, truly do." You mumbled.

"Ditto." Said Bill, staring up at the ceiling.

"What's the matter, Cipher? Mad 'cause you lost?"

Bill sat up, his eyes narrowed at Monty. "I let you win! If I wanted to, I could beat you at this game any day! I could beat you at any game!"

Monty chuckled. "I'd like to see you try."

"Oh, yeah?"

You turned your head to the side and peeked at Monty. "You know, if I remember correctly, he already has beat you. In bowling."

"Who's side are you on?" Monty demanded.

"Mine, obviously!" Bill laughed victoriously.

"Neither." You responded, nearly emotionless. "Honestly, this is all very annoying. But if I had to choose, right now I'm with Bill."

"Ha!"

"What?" Monty frowned.

"You beat me at Chutes and Ladders, too. Not just him." You met Monty's eyes. "I don't like losing."

It was apparent all three of you were competitive, but it was clear you were by far the most competitive. Monty didn't like losing, but only to Bill. And Bill definitely didn't like losing to Monty, but he didn't mind losing to you. However, you despised losing either way. But you never did throw a tantrum like the boys when you lost.

Once that was over and done, Bill challenged Monty to a rematch, which resulted in you coming in victor. Monty came in second and Bill was just angry.
