Chapter 8| Roadtrip?

"The LA Zoo. Where Michael got lost."

I immediately started to laugh for the way he'd said it.

For about 5 minutes there had been a family calling out Michael.

"I hope they find him." I said

"Yea but by then he'll be in his natural habitat." Ace said with a slight smirk on his face.

I turned to smack his arm. "Hey, you don't even know the kid." But at the same time it was still a bit funny and he knew so his smirk turned into a full smile.

"I know"

I smiled back and then sighed. "So what do we do now? We've been here for the past two hours. Surely this 10 minute break of walking has been enough."

He took out our map. "Umm well do you wanna go see the koalas or something? Zebras, gorillas, are that way." He said, and pointed ahead. "Wanna go check them out and then go somewhere else?"

I nodded. "Yup. Let's go see those animals."

It had only been about 3 days of knowing him and I guess our relationship was growing. He wasn't that bad now. Well kinda. At first he was rude. Now he seemed to calm down a bit. But it seemed to me that he also started to show another side of him. Like the boy him when he had overreacted about my car. Plus when he played with the magic 8 ball.

"Oh look! The gorillas!" I almost yelled, seeing a few people looking at some gorillas. I walked over to look at them.

"Hmm nice" Ace said, standing beside me.

There was a gorilla a little away seeming to move around and being followed by another gorilla. It looked cute.

Just then, someone tapped me on the shoulder. I thought it was Ace only to see a man with sunglasses.

"Hey, can you take a picture of my family please?" The man asked, and I nodded.

"Sure" and handed me his phone.

I watched him walk to his wife and kid as they stood behind the gorillas. They smiled as I snapped three pictures and then returned his phone.

"Thank you." He said and took a look at the photos with his wife and kid.

"Your welcome" I said, and turned to look for Ace. He wasn't where he had been beside me before. He must've walked away.

I started to look for him and couldn't find him with all the people and kids around.

Just find a hot guy in a white shirt and blue sweater. My thoughts told me.

I looked around frantically. Gosh I didn't want to be like that kid Michael. But also if I went back to campus without Ace, atleast I could be alone and away from him.

What if I asked someone? Wouldn't that look stupid? Like a young adult telling someone if they've seen a tall guy. With a white shirt and blue sweater. Beautiful hair and eyes.. Not to mention he had soft looking pinkish lips. His face is good looking and he's as hot as h- Wait! I'm getting lost in my thoughts. What the hell am I thinking about him? I could never tell someone that description.

A few seconds later I thought of another idea. I could call him.

I went to the back of my pants only to not feel my phone. Then started to feel if I had it in my front pockets. I didn't. I started to panic. This was almost everyone's nightmare! Not being able to find your phone in your pocket. Where the heck is it?!

Scared and panicked, I started to walk away from the area to another place looking for Ace. Maybe he can help me find it. I passed by the zebras and no luck. Soon I ended up stranded alone in an area. It had a bench and vending machine.

I walked over to the snacks and looked at them. Hot Cheetos seemed good.

All of a sudden, I felt like someone was watching me and I quickly looked around. The sound of someone's walking was low. Maybe it was another person walking by?

I turned back around to the vending machine and heard the low sound of footsteps again. Where was that coming from?! Then I started hearing creepy low scary music.

What the hell?

Shaking my head as if this was my imagination, I turned back around to the vending machine, taking out a few quarters from my jeans that I had.

I watched the Cheetos drop down and bent down to get it. As I stood up something didn't feel right. The music had stopped and I felt like someone was behind me. Slowly turning around I yelled.

"You freakin scared me!" I said, pushing Ace for having done that. He laughed.

"Here's your phone." He said, handing it to me.

"How the heck did you get it? I was scared I couldn't find it."

"Hell yea you were scared. I got it when you were looking at the gorillas in a daze." He said

I glared at him. "Well thanks a lot, jerk."

"Hey, whatever happened to calling me sexy beast?"

Seriously?

"Not happening. Besides that was only what you put yourself in my contacts. Not like I'm actually gonna call you that."

"Aww bummer. I wanted to hear you call me that." He said.

I wanted to reply but almost immediately he spoke again.

"Anyways let's get going. Next place is Disney!" He yelled.
