The New Boy and The Assignment
BEEP !!!!
BEEP !!!!The alarm goes off on my iPhone. Ugh, it's my school alarm.
I think I'm allergic to mornings.
I scowled at my phone before snatching it and forcibly pushing away the textbooks and various papers that were left on the side of my bed from studying last night.
I practically sleepwalked into my bathroom. I sloppily undo my messy high bun as my natural loose brown curls fell down onto my face. I flicked the light switch on in the bathroom hoping to wake myself a little, but it was too much for my eyes at 6 in the morning.
I lathered my hair in conditioner and rinsed half of it out before my 6:30 alarm went off. I turned the shower nob off and dried my hair.
I brushed my teeth and looked in the mirror, wrapping my towel around my body.
I looked like a zombie, so I touched up my face with light makeup; waking up at 6 am didn't really do good stuff to my face. Some foundation and mascara was all I needed to bring me from the dead.
I threw on a plain black top and some denim jeans and red Converses.
I ran downstairs and quickly grabbed my car keys from the marble kitchen table and bolted out the door. I got into my Toyota.

I opened the door to Trinity High and walked from the cafeteria to the 12th grade level upstairs. As I got to the 12th grade level, I looked at the school posters, lockers, water fountains, and classrooms. The only thing that was missing was the students.
I was hoping to see someone in the hallway. I just wanted some proof that I was not late. I checked my phone with a disappointing frown when it said 7:05. Late again.
First period had already started, so I got my books out of my locker in the hallway.
Mr. Crewman, my science teacher was taking attendance when I opened the door. Upon opening the door, I earned everyone's eyes on me. Had no one ever seen me walk through a door?
"Issabella Jones, late again?" He said arrogantly with a bitter tone as his eyes and the rest of class' eyes flickered to mine, putting me on spot.
"I'm sorry, sir." I apologized as I shut the door and continued my walk of shame as I walked to my desk.
"Say sorry to your attendance record." He stated with a disappointed sign as a few people giggled. He looked at me with one final look of disapprovement and then continued with the rest of the roster.
Better late than never.
His class is the only proof that just because you ace a teacher's class doesn't mean they will like you. To him it doesn't matter that I bust my ass to get a 98% in this class, all he sees is a girl who needs to get an alarm clock.
Despite me seeing red, I let it go and slam my book bag on the floor and sit down in my seat. I'm just waiting until I won't have to see these stupid plastic chairs for because next year I'll be in college away from this hellhole some would call a school.
I was already kind of frantic and angry this morning from rushing to make the bell and facing Mr. Crewman's morning wrath, and Mr. Crewmen knew just how to make it worse by assigning a partner project due in 2 months.
