Mixed Signal
I woke up this morning thinking that I would not letting anything, or anyone ruin my day or school year.
My mom was right; Crystal or anyone for that matter was not going to ruin my day. After all how could you let someone who cares so little about you effect you so much?
I don't know how Crystal snaked her way ruining my confidence, but I was sure that today was going to be a start to better days.
I took a nice warm shower and put on a plaid shirt with black jeans and some black vans.
When I arrived to school, Crystal was ranting about me and my meltdown yesterday as I walked to my seat. Looking at me as she so obviously gossiping and invalidating my emotions, she decided to take it a step further when she figured that I had no intentions of addressing her.
She walked up to me with her brown Louis Vuitton on her elbow, "Oh look it's the pathetic loser!" She said as she pointed at me, her Louis Vuitton bag following her hand gestures.
The class turned and looked at me. I took a deep breath, thought about what my mom said to me the day before and fired back.
She was not going to win. Not now, not ever again. I turned to her makeup powered face.
"You know what? I think maybe you should eat some of that makeup you have, and maybe you'll be pretty in the inside too!" I said as confidence and adrenaline fueled through my veins.
Kyle turned around from talking to Luke and looked at me and Crystal. He looked shocked that those words had just came out my mouth.
"At least I don't look like a zombie! " She retaliated.
"I'm curious, what do you think you look like without makeup ?" I laughed into her face.
"Oh, and I'm pretty sure 90% of your "beauty" can be removed with a Kleenex wipe." I smiled sweetly.
"But aren't I the one who's had multiple boyfriends?" She said.
"I don't think that's anything to brag. I'm pretty sure my phone battery lasted longer than your last relationship." I said with a sneer.
Laughter and shock took over the room. Crystal had the look of embarrassment on her face.
For a second, I felt bad for her; she was feeling the same pain and discomposure I had felt not too long ago. I quickly pushed away the thought. She deserved all that came to her after she embarrassed and humiliated for all of her high school years.
She deserved it, I told myself.
Crystal and her group of fakes scoffed as she got ready to leave the classroom.
Crystal picked up her purse, pushed in her chair, and stood up, "I'm not going to take this."
She finally left after rolling her eyes and slamming the door.
A girl named Brooklyn walked up to me, and a cute nerdy boy followed her.
I had noticed her before. She was in all my classes, and she was my only real competition in being valedictorian. I kinda saw her as a rival, but the more and more I saw her around school, the more and more friendly she looked.
