The base was quiet for once and the bots weren't sure why. They looked up at the humans area and saw all the kids doing homework.
Wait... Miko was doing homework.
They glanced at each other then back at the girl. Bulkhead thought it was a little odd. Not only that, she hadn't said but a few words to anyone when she got there. He thought some more and realized she did this yesterday as well. She hadn't touched her guitar either in a few days. She hadn't listened to Slash Monkey, asked about monster trucks, or really anything normal for Miko. He narrowed his eyes and walked up to their area. He looked at the two boys who were working and he glanced at her paper. It wasn't doodles. He sat by her and waited until she was done.
"So... uh Miko.... do you want to got to a monster truck rally?" He asked hesitantly. She stopped and looked at him for a moment.
"No I'm okay." She said quietly and went to writing a book report. She seemed down and he thought for a few minutes.
"Do you want to listen to some Slash Monkey?" He asked as he smiled. "I know you like it and-"
"No thank you." She said cutting him off. Jack slowly looked up at her and furrowed his brow. He knew she was acting funny, but this was just unlike her.
"Miko... is everything alright?" The wrecker asked hesitantly. She looked at him and frowned a little.
"Of course. Why wouldn't I be?" She asked as she looked at him. Wheeljack had come over and sat on the floor by the couch.
"Because kid, you're acting like.... well not yourself." He said seriously and glanced at his friend. She looked at them blankly.
"If you don't like who I am you can deal with it." She said bluntly. The wreckers frowned and looked at each other.
"Miko... are you sure everything is alright?" Jack asked as he put his book down and furrowed his brow.
"Yes. Now if you excuse me I have some homework to do." She muttered and got back to work. The two men gave each other concerned looks. They decided not to press the matter and see how she felt the next day. They did want to keep an eye on her though. Something just wasn't right.

The next morning.
Miko stared at her reflection blankly and looked at her clothes. She remembered what her host parents had said about trying to make her proper. She looked at her pink highlights and sighed quietly. She undid her pony tails and straightened her hair. She decided she would color it all black later when she could.
Miko picked up some make up and stared at it for a long time. She shook her head and put it down. The young girl decided to wear something different than her usual outfit. A plain pink turtle neck with long sleeves, and a pair of jeans. She sighed quietly and put her hair up in a bun, held together with chopsticks. She stared at herself and didn't recognize the person in the mirror. She smiled sadly and grabbed her back pack before leaving. Her host parents loved the new look, but she ignored them.
Once at school she quietly went to her locker and avoided talking to people. The only people she couldn't seem to avoid was Rafael and Jack. They kept asking if she was alright and wondered what was going on. She just changed the subject or ignored their questions all together. Towards the end of the school day she was getting ready to leave when Jack walked over to her.
