Kevin😑: my phone is dying

Sandra: then charge it

Kevin😑: okay but my charger is far and I still wanna talk to you.

Sandra: just charge your phone.

Kevin😑: you really don't wanna talk to me huh?

I really didn't mind talking to him. I was actually getting used to it now and then. Talking to him when I least expected it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I think it was because of that day at the plaza. It's not like anything like that had happened. Amelia expected more though. Why? I have no idea but if I was really going to give him a chance than I was going to give it to him at a very very slow rate.

Sandra: just charge your phone.

I finally went back to my homework, tossing my phone to the side. I've been on the subject for a good hour and the assignment could've been finished in ten but my mind kept constantly going to my phone for distractions. Mostly the Kevin type of distraction.

I saw my screen light up from a notification. For some reason I was tempted to look over at my phone but I ignored it, going back to my work on the desk.

I was sleeping when I heard the buzzing coming from my phone. I wasn't a particularly heavy sleeper so when my phone buzzed once I instantly heard it, startled awake. I reached over blindly closing my eyes yet again, not even bothering to look at the caller ID and answering anyway. "Hello?"

"Hey prom date." What the hell?

"Kevin?" I groaned loudly, sitting up in my bed. "Why are you calling me at two AM? I'm trying to sleep."

"I'm sorry," He immediately said and by the tone of his voice, he meant what he was saying. "I'm sorry. I, uh, I couldn't sleep."

"What do you mean you couldn't sleep? Try sleeping now."

There was a pause. "It's not that easy."

"Why not?"

He sighed through the phone. "I have a small case of insomnia."

I didn't say anything for a moment, wondering if he was serious or not. "How small?"

"Not sure. Depends on different nights. Sometimes I can sleep, sometimes I can't sleep for a while like maybe a few days and a one hour nap in between or something like that. Sometimes I sleep but then I randomly wake up and can't fall asleep again. It really depends."

I didn't know what to say about that. I opened my mouth to come up with a response but he continued speaking. "And it sucks when I have basketball practice in the morning or can barely get by during the day, you know?"

Then it hit me. "That explains why you looked so tired the other day."

"Yeah..."

I sat up, crossing my legs underneath the duvet, my elbows resting on the pillow now in my lap. "How long has this been happening?"

"A couple weeks almost two months now I think."

"Have you seen a doctor about this?"

"It's not like I diagnosed myself. The doctor was the one who diagnosed me. The doctor is my mom, remember?" I forget sometimes that Kevin and I talked before this a lot. His mom was a doctor at the hospital not too far from here.
