"I'm gonna find those damn Dauntless," Marcus mutters from the train car next to me.

Frantically, I huddle in a ball, not caring about anyone else around me. I can't talk. I use all my energy to say one word. "Nathan?" I whisper, huddling in a ball, staring at his hoodie.

"Yes?" He replies almost instantly with a look of concern. Our eyes meet. I catch myself staring into his dark black eyes.

"May I have your hoodie?" I ask frantically, panicked by Marcus.

He hands it to me, covering me with it instantly.

"Are you sick?" Nathan asks, "Need to go to the infirmary?"

"Just what I needed," I mutter sarcastically.

"Sorry," Nathan mutters, "But I am concerned about you!"

I hear Marcus's speech filling my ears of how he's gonna kill Dauntless. I stick my head outside the train car. I sprint towards the Dauntless building. Nathan follows me, bewildered by what's going on.

Nathan drags me to a stop. "Kat! Are you okay?"

I take a breath. I can't expose my true feelings. "Perfectly fine, Nathan. Don't worry about me."

Nathan stares at me for a good five seconds.

"What?" I ask obliviously.

"What is it that you need to tell me?" Nathan asks, getting annoyed.

"Sorry, Nate, but I'll tell you later," I reply.

"When?!" he asks.

"After fear simulations, tomorrow, we look for Nathaniel," I reply, "I'll tell you then."

Nathan rolls his eyes. "Uriah knows where Nathaniel is. He's just manipulating us into his trap."

"Why? Over losing a brother?!" I ask, actually oblivious.

"Uriah knows he's dead," Nathan sternly says.

"Geez, Nathan, what is up with you?" I say lightheartedly.

"See you in fear simulation tomorrow!" he yells.

"See ya!" I reply, running towards the dormitory.

I see Jo standing there with Rainbow. "Where have you been?"

"Not here," I retort.

"Not funny!" Jo yells.

I laugh. Rainbow stares at me weirdly.

"Kat?" Jo asks, "You ok?"

"Perfectly fine!" I reply.

They don't question my reply, unlike Nathan, who had a mental breakdown. Rainbow has another streak of orange, right on her bangs.

"Nice hair," I comment to Rainbow.

"Thanks!" she says, acting shallow as a joke, "I'm so shallow and I have no life!

Rainbow twirls her hair. "Where's a Starbucks?"

Jo and I burst into laughter, Jo falling right on her face and literally, rolling on the floor laughing, dust piling on top of her as she rolls on the floor.

This is better than my brother, at least.
