Chapter 16: the forbidden kiss

We went to the institute and when we walked out of the elevator we came by Maryse. She greeted Alec, Izzy, Max and me with a welcoming smile and nod, but when she went to Jace she was really cold and asked him if they could talk. I was really afraid for him as
I went to my dad's house. I knocked on the door and then I realized I had a key. I took the key and put it in the lock and turned it so the door could open. It did and I walked inside to the living room and yelled "dad, I'm home". He immediately came downstairs and hugged me, he said "oh Soph, I'm so sorry you had to witness that. We will find the one who killed him". Seriously, the downwolders are more gossip girls than the girls at my old school and they're 16 year old girls. "Thanks dad, do you have any idea?" "Well, first was the young warlock, the second was the Fairy child and the third was a werewolf cub. Only the first two were drained out of blood and the third time he/she was interrupted, so he/she couldn't complete it. I think I know what it is". He walked to his wall where was a bookcase full with books and he picked a very old one. The cover of the book was brown and by the look of it, it was very old. There was a title on the front but I couldn't read it. He opened his page by "the Mortal Instruments". He looked at me and told me to call the others. I pulled my phone out of my back pocket and put all the numbers of the gang in one group and group called them. They all picked up and then I started talking "hey guys, so you probably already know about my explosion about the werewolf boy". They all said yes. I went on "well, my dad says its got something to do with the-" I couldn't finish my sentence, because my dad took my phone and held his hand to my mouth. What the hell. He told me and the gang that nobody may know about it, so they needed to come to dad's house and then we would tell them. He dropped his hand and gave me my phone back. "Okay, bye guys. See you in a few". They chorused bye and hung up. A few minutes later I heard the door bell ring and walked to the door to open it. I've got a new improved nose, so I could smell Alec at the door. I opened the door and smiled at him and then I hugged him. He hugged me back and walked further into the apartment. Not even a minute later Izzy and Max came through the door. I greeted them both with a hug and I gave them a wink. At which they both blushed and looked to the other side and walked to the main room were dad was. Then Simon and Raphael came through the door. I greeted Simon with a hug and he winked at me and walked to the main room to give us some privacy. Raphael looked at me and smiled, then he hugged me, I hugged back and kissed him on the lips. We kissed for a long time, I don't know how long. When I'm with Raphael I just forget time, then someone coughed behind us and we broke apart. He took my hand in his, it's amazing. It's like our hands are meant to be, they fit together perfectly. We walked to my dad in the main room and there wasn't enough space for the both of us, because there was only one chair. I wanted to just go stand, but Raphael went to sit on the chair and he pulled me on top of him so I sat on his lap. My dad looked at us disapprovingly, but he let it slide. We had more important things to do. Clary sat next to Simon, and she spilled coffee on her hand. She was starting to get up to clean it and then Simon kissed her hand and said "all better". You should have seen Clary's face, it was so funny. There was an awkward silence and my dad broke it by telling us about a ritual that's called the Mortal Instruments, there are three of them. The cup, the sword and the mirror. I get that the cup is one, and I know that the silent brothers have the sword, but I know nothing about the mirror. He went on "he needs blood of a child of the Nephilim, a child of Lilith, a child of the moon, a child of the night and a child of the fairy folk. If he has their blood and all the instruments he can summon the angel Raziel and ask him a favor. If he does that, we will all be doomed. I've survived the first shadowhunter war and I will not participate in another one". He said the last part angrily, it frightened me a little bit to see my dad like this. He saw that I was a little bit afraid so he calmed down and smiled at me, I smiled back and then Alec walked away because his phone went off. He came back and said "my mom just called, she said that the Seelie Queen wanted to talk to us". Wait, the queen of the fairies want to talk to us? "You can't ignore the Seelie Queen. You must go, even if you don't want to". My dad told us. Alright, I guess we're going to the fairies. It sounds nicer than it is, you would think aw fairies how cute. But they're more monstrous than any vampire or werewolf, even a demon is sometimes a less monster than the fairies. Then I heard an argument between Clary and Jace about how dangerous it is, blah, blah, blah. I awoke from my daze by Raphael kissing my neck and ear, I felt myself redden and I stood up quickly. He chuckled and we held hands, with our fingers intertwined. He brought our hands up to his mouth and kissed my fingers and then my knuckles. I just can't believe how I got such a wonderful boyfriend, he's amazing in all ways. Alright, that's enough of drooling about my super hot boyfriend. In return for Jace someone has to stay with my dad, so Alec volunteered. They seriously need to kiss, and fast. We went to the park and waited till the moon fell down onto the water. Then we could walk through it, to a whole world of fairies below the lake. Izzy and Max went first while holding hands, hmmm interesting. That will be my second mission, but first I need to get operation Malec started. Then Clary and Simon went and Jace and I walked behind them as last. It's a shame Raphael couldn't come with me, but he and the Seelie Queen don't like each other very much. When we were full below the lake we saw a lot of dancing fairies and we could hear music. Izzy covered Simons eyes and ears and I could hear it too, but because I've got great senses it was too loud for me. Clary almost joined the fairies in their dance if it wasn't for Jace. Then a fairy named Meliorn, aka Izzy's boyfriend, came to us and told us that the Seelie Queen was ready to see us. We took a seat and she offered us food. Jace told us before we went to not eat or drink anything from the fairies, because then they owe you. It's horrible I know, they're shucking crazy. I don't know if you guys know that word but it's from a book called the maze runner. There were little pixies who flew around us and one bit Clary's finger. She dipped it in her drink and then she sucked her blood up. We were talking with the Seelie queen, but I zoned out again. We wanted to go but she told us to wait. "Why?" Jace asked. "Because Clarissa can't go away from here, she belongs to me now", the Seelie Queen said. "Clary what did you do?" Simon asked her. "Some pixie bit me and I licked my blood, but I must say it tasted a little bit fruity". Oh no, Clary. "Fruity, how?" Max asked. "She drank the drink from me, and everyone knows that she belongs to me now". "Wait, are you sure there isn't any other way to get away from here?" Clary asked panicked. "Well, if I could get something from you then you may go". The Seelie Queen responded. "Alright, what do we have to do?" I asked her". "That's easy, I want Clary to kiss the one she really wants". Oh no, poor Simon. Simon walked forward ready to kiss Clary, then the Seelie Queen interrupted just before Simon could kiss her and said "no, I meant the one she really wants". How could she be so mean, you literally saw his face change to the most saddest face he ever had. Then Jace kissed Clary, it lasted really long. Poor, poor Simon. He was so upset that he run away back to Central Park. The we went back too, when we were outside the lake I run after Simon. I found him at my dads place, I run to him and hugged him really tight. And I told him "Shhh Si it's okay, you will get over this. It hurts an awful lot in the beginning but then it becomes a little bit less worse. And remember you've always got me and Max, we will always be there for you. Okay, so your not alone." "Thanks Soph, do you mean it. Are you really going to stand by me?" "Yes of course Si, I promise". Pinky promise?" He asked me. "Yes of course." I told him. Then we linked our pinkies and I said "I promise". I know it's a bit childish, but what do you expect. My little brother just got betrayed by his best friend which he had been in love with since they were five years old. I went to Raphael and told him to go to the bedroom, there I kissed him. I didn't want it to do in the room with Simon, because of what just happened. Alec and the others decided that we needed to go back to the institute, when we were there I said goodbye to Raphael and kissed him. We went to bed immediately, and Clary told me how sorry she is for Simon. She better be, the poor boy is so depressed. We said good night and fell asleep.
