Assalamoalaykum!

Alhamdullilah, I'm posting the first chapter today, after nearly 3-4 years of actually writing.

The song I imagined for this was Janaan. (in the media)

Sakinah's POV

"Sakinah Aapi, mera bag nahi mil raha!" Rizwan began shouting from upstairs. I shook my head. Late again. Na jaane kab yeh ladka sudhrega. I spotted the bag near the door and picked it up.

"Sakinah Aapi! Ayaan bhai phir se mujhe chhed rahe hain!" I sighed. Here we go again with Sabrina and Ayaan's daily fighting. Kutte billi ki tarah ladhte rehte hain dono.

"Ayaan leave her alone! Tumhein college ke liye tayaar nahi hona kya?" I shouted back. His muffled "sorry" reverberated back.

I went upstairs and knocked on Rizwan's door. He opened it and my eyes widened seeing the state of the room.

"Rizwan yeh kya haal banaya hua hai tumne kamre ka?" I looked around at the scattered papers and books. Clothes covered the ground. "No wonder you can't find anything, it looks like a thunderstorm ran through here!"

"Offo Aapi, main saaf kar doonga. Zara baal toh set karne do" He looked at the mirror and started gelling up his straight black hair. Zaroor Ayaan ne sikhaya hoga.

"Kisko patane jaa raha hai itne hot aur happening ban kar?" I smirked at his outfit, a black V-neck paired with jeans.

"Kisi ko bhi nahi." He turned away from me, stuttering a little. "School ka pehla din hai, bas, iss liye." I shook my head at his lie.

"Mahreen ko heart attack dene ka iraada hai kya?" He turned towards me with wide eyes.

"Tumhein kaise pata Mahreen ke bare mein?" I laughed at him. He still thinks he can hide things from me.

"Tumhaari behen hoon, sab jaanti hoon," I boasted and he hugged me. "I really like her Aapi."

"Mujhse kya chupayega? I know, bewakoof. Filhaal, tum late ho rahe ho. Jaldi karo aur neeche aa ke naashta kar lo" I smiled at him and left the room.

A ball whizzed past my head and I shrieked, reeling back.

"Ayaan! Kitni dafa kaha hai ke ghar mein yeh sab nahi khelna!"

"Sorry Aapi!" He came up to me with his cheeky smile. I smiled and pinched his nose.

"Sorry ke bache, tayaar ho jao aur naashte kar ke dafa ho jao din ke liye." I went to Sabrina's room to find her in tears. "Arre, tumhein kya hya? Ro kyun rahi ho?"

"Dekhein na Aapi, pehli baar itni acchi braid banayi thi, aur Ayaan bhai ne kharab kar di." She wiped at her eyes. I pulled her in for a hug, wiping any remaining tears.

"Itni badi ho kar, itni choti baat par ro rahi ho? Don't worry jaan, I'll quickly make you one because you're also late. Aur Ayaan ko main baad mein dekh loongi." I grabbed her beautiful long hair and quickly twisted it into a voluminous side braid. She inspected herself in the mirror and a huge smile spread across her face.

"It looks awesome! Thank you Aapi!" She kissed me on the cheek and ran down to the dining table. I followed her and began setting the table.

"Haan, aaj kya bana naashte mein?" Ayaan sat down, rubbing his hands. I twisted his ear. "OW Aapi chodein na, maine kya kiya!"
