Chapter 13

A/N: Your comments make my day! So glad you love this story. I hope you like this chapter. Its some Riley/Lucas/Maya interaction. I wanted to write something where Lucas and Riley get to know each other more and for the record it's not because I plan to go the route of Rucas (my best friend would kill me lmao) but because I want them to be great friends since she and Maya are sisters. 

Maya POV

Lucas, Gabe, and I had so much fun yesterday but now it was time to get back to real life. Today I have to work and Gabriel has school. Today I was going to be stopping in at the school office so that I could speak to someone about putting Lucas name on the the emergency contacts and list of people who were allowed to pick him up. Lucas wanted to get him today after school so I allowed him too. I'm so glad they are spending time together. Lucas really has stepped up to the plate since finding out about our son and I'm forever grateful because most guys like him are hard to find these day. After getting everything squared away at Gabe's school I left for work. Riley texted me that she was bringing breakfast again so I didn't stop anywhere. I love that RIley and I work together. She does the editing part of the magazine and I usually design the covers among other things. Our work morning was a rather slow one today. When I got out of my meeting I had an unread text message from Lucas asking me if he could meet me for lunch. I couldn't help but smile and of course I told him yes. I walked over to Riley's office and she was on her computer.

"Hey, Lucas is joining us for lunch today." I said as I walked in and sat down in the chair that's in front of her desk.

"Oh good! I'm so glad things are going so well for the two of you." Riley said as she looked up from her computer screen with a smile.

"Me too. I loved him and I've never stopped." I replied.

"Peaches, its so good to see you happy. It's like ever since he's been back you are glowing with happiness. It's the happiest I've seen you. Mom has even noticed it." she replied as she took a sip of her coffee.

"Thanks Riles! I really am happy. He's so good with Gabe." I replied.

"That's good. I'm glad he is otherwise I'd prob kick his ass." she said and I couldn't help but chuckle. "So tell me about your time with him yesterday."

"I was shook after round two. He's so good, Riles. I'll spare you the details but it was honestly amazing." I replied and she laughed.

"Good. Sounds like you got yourself a good guy. When are you going to take him to meet Mom and Dad?" she asked.

"I was actually thinking we could all do dinner this weekend at Mom's." I replied. "I have to talk to her about it though."

"I'm sure she'll be fine with. I think it sounds like a great idea." she answered.

I sat around chatting with Riley for a little bit then went back to my office to do a couple of things. By the time that I got done doing everything it was time for lunch. Lucas text me that he was here so I went to go get him. I was excited to show him where I worked. I walked down and he was standing in the lobby. He was looking so good. I walked up to him and he smiled at me.

"Hey, I'm so glad you are here." I said to him.

Lucas placed his hand my waist and pulled me to him. He leaned down and kissed me softly then pulled away "Me too. I hate being away from you." he replied.

"I hate being away from you too. I miss you when you aren't with me." I replied.

"I miss you too. You're looking hot today. I don't have to beat up Seth do I?" he said and I chuckled.

"Thank's and nah, he's good." I said to him. "And you're looking hot too. That suit really looks good on you."

Lucas smirked at me and I grabbed his hand. We then walked back up to get Riley who was just finishing up editing an article. When she was done we left to get lunch at a nearby restaurant. The three of us chose to sit at a booth rather than a table. I sat down by Lucas and Riley sat across from us.  Lucas ordered a burger while Riley and I each ordered a salad. 

"Everything is set up at Gabriel's school. They are aware you are getting him today." I said as I took a sip of my water. 

"Okay great! He has practice tonight right?" Lucas asked. 

"Yep, at 4:30" I replied. 

"I'll take him to it." Lucas said with a grin. 

"You know Lucas my sister has dated a few guys." Riley said and I gave her a look then looked at Lucas who I could tell was wondering what Riley was getting at. "But none of them compared to you. Thank you for being so good to my sister and nephew. Thank you for stepping up to the plate when you found out about him. I've never seen Gabe this happy." 

"Awe Riles you are so sweet." I replied. "And Lucas before your head gets going the relationships with the guys shes referring to did not last long because I couldn't get over you." 

"You're welcome Riley. Had I known sooner I would have been here from day one. And Maya I know. It's in the past but I won't lie that thinking of you with some other guy makes my blood boil" he said causing me to laugh. 

"I understand because that's me when it comes to you with other girls." I replied. "You're going to bring Gabe to me after practice right?" 

"Yeah of course. I want to see you for a little bit." he replied. 

"Gabe is going to be so happy about you taking him to practice. He was so excited when telling me about how you said you'd go with him now. You came into his life at the perfect time Lucas. He was so sad about the other kids having Daddy's." Riley replied. "And I'm happy for my sister too. She's never been this happy." 

"I told him I would never miss a practice and that he doesn't have to worry about that anymore. I think he's better." Lucas replied before taking a bite of his burger. 

"He seems to be much better actually. This morning he told me he's so happy that he has a Daddy now." I said and Lucas smiled. 

"I'm so glad." Lucas replied. 

"I'm just glad Maya finally got laid and actually enjoyed it for once." Riley blurted out and I looked at her. 

"Riley!" I said to her and she grinned at me. I looked at Lucas and he was smirking. 

"I can't with you. You have no filter." I said and he she chuckled. 

"Maya, it's fine. It's not like it's new information to me anyways. You screaming my name out in pleasure yesterday is pretty indicative that you enjoyed it." he said with a smirk and then Riley started laughing. 

"This is so embarrassing." I replied as I looked at Lucas. 

Lucas looked over at me and he was grinning ear to ear as I looked back at him. He leaned in and kissed me softly on the lips and I kissed him back. 

He pulled away and looked at me with a smile "I love you." he said for the first time ever since we reunited. "I'm just teasing you." 

I smiled at him as that made me so happy that he said those three words  "I love you too Lucas and I know you are teasing. I can't rag on you too much because it's not like you're telling lies." 

I looked over at Riley who really did genuinely look so happy for Lucas and I.  As annoying as she can be I can't help but love her anyways. I'm her peaches and she's my Riles. We're sisters for life no matter how annoying each one of us can be to each other.  I love Riley with all my heart. She's not only my sister but she's my best friend and even though she can be a pain in my ass we'll always seamless. Besides it's not like I haven't ragged on her like this before. After eating lunch Lucas had to get going but he said he'd see me later after Gabe's practice. I couldn't wait to see him. I feel like I'm a teenager all over again.
