Hayley's P.O.V.

Ugh. Today is the dance. I know I said I was going to go, but I don't feel like it. Sophie is going to be there with Andy, and I can't stand them. Everybody is going to be with dates, and I'm just going to be alone the whole time, in the corner. Well whatever, I already got a ticket from that satan worshipping librarian. I spent the whole day looking for a dress in my closet. This butterfly one? Nah. This weird looking one? Nah. Then I found it, at the back of the closet, the dress I didn't want to wear. The one Josh have me. I looked at all of my other choices, and back at the forbidden dress.

Leave the past behind. I put all of the other dresses away, and laid the white frilly dress on the bed. I took a shower, did my makeup, and let my hair run free. I looked at myself in the mirror. Not bad, Hayley, not bad.

I slipped on the itchy tux Ashley chose for me. Honestly, I hate dances. I wonder if Hayley is going to be there. I fixed up my hair, and applied a bit of eyeliner. "I'm ready!" Ashley, Jake, Jinxx, and CC entered the room. "There's our little boy!! All grown up!" Jake reached over and fixed my tie. "Here's Sophie's corsage. I hope she likes it, she looks really picky." Jinxx handed me the purple flower. "CHOCOLATES!" CC tossed the box to me. "And if you see Hayley there, don't talk to her. That will make things awkward." Ashley said. "And you are now officially ready for the dance!" Jake patted my back and pushed me out the front door."But I-" I protested. "They locked me out the front door.

I looked at myself in the mirror. I look decent enough. I guess I'll just be heading out. I drove to the venue they were hosting the dance in. As I walked inside, balloons and glitter slapped me in the face. I pushed them away. Pink and white frilly balloons were floating everywhere. People were dancing and some people were just lounging around. The band that the DJ was playing on the speakers sounded like whining children. The Buffett table was against the wall, so I decided to maybe get a slice of pizza. I grabbed a slice and headed overt o an empty table in the corner. I watched everybody dance and have fun in the corner, while I mourned the loss of fun in my life.

I drove to Sophie's house, the thought of Hayley still lingering in my mind. I rang the doorbell and Sophie came out wearing a short frilly purple dress that looked hideous. "Andy!" Sophie linked her arm in mine. "Here's your corsage." I pinned it one her spaghetti strap. Sophie looked down at the purple flower. "Not my choice of a color but okay." Sophie batted her eyelashes. "And uh here are some chocolates." I handed her the box. "Ew, too much carbs." Sophie threw the box into the bushes. "Well I guess we should be going." She led me to my own car. I drove to the venue, and helped Sophie off the car. We walked inside, only to be sprayed with glitter. "Yuck." I let go of Sophie to wipe the shimmery dust off. "You don't like the glitter??!!" Sophie pouted. "Uh..-" "Let's go dance." Sophie led me to the dance floor.

I was so bored. I didn't want to go dance, because I can't. I don't want to leave, because there's free food. I sighed. I watched people enter the venue and get hounded by balloons and glitter. A couple walked in and got the tall man got sprayed in the face! I turned to look at him. It's Andy!! He was wearing a black tuxedo with a purple tie. Sophie pulled him to the dance floor, and I lost view of him. I knew he was coming, but I hoped I wasn't going to see him. I put my head in my hands. What am I going to do?!! If I watch them on their date, it will just break my heart.

"Sophie I don't want to dance." "Why not?" Sophie grabbed my hand and kissed it. "Because I'm hungry." It was true. Ashley didn't let me eat anything. "Okay then let's go to the Buffett table." She led me off the dance floor. I grabbed a plate and picked up 3 slices of pizza. "Look I found us a table." Sophie sat down in a table that was near the edge of the wall. " I spat across from Sophie. I nibbled on a piece of pepperoni. I glanced at the table in front of us over Sophie's shoulder. Hayley. She sat alone, her orange hair sparkled with glitter. She looked so sad, so lonely. Her white dress suited her perfectly, like she was a bride, a bride for me. I continued to eat my pizzeria while staring. "Andy, what are you looking at." Sophie turned around and looked at Hayley. Her jaw dropped. Hayley looked up and stared right back at us. I raised my eyebrow jokingly. Hayley turned back around and began to play with her phone. Are we of little importance to her?
