Rough Rider: Part Three
She had a decision to make, that much was clear. What wasn't clear was the outcome of her choices. What would happen next? What would be left? How would this affect everything they worked so hard to accomplish?
"Lauren baby," Y/N reached out for her girlfriend and easily tugged her closer. "You're exhausted, I know you must be after... well us having to sleep in the guest room is a clear indication of WHY you must be tired. Come back to sleep. You keep me warm."
She'd felt Y/N's presence the moment a soft breeze flew through the room, filling her with a sense of paradoxes - nervous tranquillity and warm shivers. Everything was more heightened around this time of night; everything was heightened period. She could hear the sharp breeze a few miles away, she could hear people walking around the neighborhood, she could feel anxiety, happiness, sadness, comfort - she felt it all. She was a vampire now after all.
One Year Ago...
"He's beautiful, truly beautiful." The happy couple sat in the living room of Lauren and Y/N's apartment, basking in the glow of their first newborn child Mason Cabello Hansen. Camila had given birth to the adorable little boy six months after the club incident and had honestly never looked better. Dinah turned her mere seconds after the painstaking twelve hour labor that damn near killed Camila - which in a way it ironically did. But needless to say, they were both happy and connected for life with a son and two loving friends. Could life be any better? Maybe if Lauren was one of them. That way they'd all be forever connectedness. But that time would come - untimely at that.
Two Months Later...
"Baby, I'm going to run to the store to get a few things for Mason's second transformation," Lauren told her girlfriend who was currently running up a damming water bill by using up all the hot water in their shower. "Do you need anything?"
"I'm okay babe. Just hurry back! I have a surprise for you!" The vampire sounded unusually happy which let Lauren know the surprise would be a big one. Whatever it was, whatever she hoped it to be, she'd have to wait and see. She grabbed her black windbreaker from the coat rack in their living room and grabbed her purse, heading out the door to the local supermarket across the street.
