Zelda's P.O.V

Link appeared discouraged. He knew something was wrong, and so did I. I sensed the same malevolent force that Link did.

"Don't worry." I tried.

Link smiled softly at me before sitting beside my on the floor.

"I always worry." He chuckled.

"You care about these people a lot. They're your family. You have every right to worry." I stated.

I couldn't help but think of my Father back in Castle Town. Yes, he was under the protection of Lady Impa, but I still feared for him. Our enemy has gained a great number of supporters across the land and soon they will be strong enough to confront us.

"Yea I guess I could consider them my family." Link sighed.

"You guess?" I inquired.

Link took a moment before explaining.

"You don't have to tell me if you don't want, it seems pretty personal." I tried.

"No, no its fine. I just haven't told a great deal of people about my past, much less a stranger." He chuckled.

"Please excuse me then. I didn't mean to pry." I apologized.

"You know I never expected a citizen of Termina to be so polite." Link teased.

I rolled my eyes at him in response.

"Whoa! You know in some cultures its considered very rude to roll your eyes at someone." He joked.

I attempted to hold back a smile but it was impossible in his presence. Link was radiating amenity. He was such a joy to be around.

Link looked at me in shock.

"So you can smile?!" He asked sarcastically.

"Shhh you'll wake the house." I scolded.

"Oh sorry." Link whispered.

We sat there in silence for a moment peering into the fire. We watched the flames dance and flicker before lInk suddenly broke the silence.

"I never really had a family." Link stated.

I couldn't help but feel a great deal of pity for Link.

Link's face was clearly saddened as he stared into the flames.

I took this moment to try to comfort him. I gently leaned my head on his shoulder and grasped his hand. I felt Link shift uncomfortably before continuing.

"I was found in the woods one day. I don't remember anything before that. I was so young." He started.

I nodded my head for him to continue.

"Rusl was making his rounds one day and found me. I was playing at the edge of the forest with a group of fairies. He took me in and raised me. Rusl is the closest thing to a Father I've ever had." Link explained.

"You don't remember anything prior to that day?" I asked.

"No, no matter how hard I try I can't figure out why I was there where Rusl found me. I have no idea where I came from, or where I belong." Link stated.

"Your past does not define you. You clearly have made a home for yourself. These people here love and care for you. " I explained.

"I know. I just sometimes get this feeling that I belong elsewhere." He sighed.

"I know the feeling." I whispered.

"You do?!" Link asked.

Suddenly I began to panic. I didn't mean to say such a thing. I couldn't help but think I belonged alongside my father helping with this civil war rather then here with Link.

"I mean yea... I sometimes like to think I'm meant to be somewhere. But not somewhere specific, just not here." I tried

"Well I'm glad you're here, to be honest." Link stated with a smile.

I smiled back at him in return before standing up.

"I should head to bed, its getting late." I stated before leaving Link alone beside the fire place.

"Goodnight Sheik." Link stated with a small wave.

"Goodnight Link." I responded before disappearing.
