"Oh my God! I love the cinemas!" Cat shrieked, gazing all around. There was a Starbucks, several clothes stores, and there was the cinema, looming at the very top of the aisle. "C'mon! We've got to pick a film!" Cat giggled, dragging Robbie over to a list of movies.

"I'm coming! Hmm..." Robbie peered at the list. "What do you want to watch?"

"You pick for us, Robbie!" Cat beamed, bouncing excitedly.

"I know what you'll like!" Robbie nodded, then rushed to the ticket counter. Fortunately, there was no queue, for some reason. "Two tickets to..." Robbie lowered his voice when mentioning the film, so however Cat strained her ears, she couldn't catch what he was saying. The woman at the desk smiled as she exchanged the tickets for a crisp twenty pound note.

"So, is this a date? Your boyfriend is very secretive..." She smiled to Cat.

"Yep, it's a date!" Cat grinned, then they both rushed away, with the lady waving after them.

They stocked up on a bunch of cinema food, then showed their tickets before heading on their way to the movie.

"C'mon, just a hint!" Cat begged, as they threaded their way through the corridors to screen number seven.

"No! You have to wait and see!" Robbie poked his tongue out, ruffling Cat's hair.

"Meanie," Cat pouted as they took their seats. The cinema was dark, the ceiling dotted with tiny lights that resembled stars. The huge screen stood proudly before them, showing meaningless, boring adverts. Cat bounced up and down in her seat agitatedly. She didn't like not knowing! Why were cinema adverts so long? Were they, like, deliberately torturing her?! Half the popcorn would be gone if this carried on! Cat was rather alarmed by this thought, and cut down on how much she was eating just in case.

Eventually, the movie began. Cat watched interestedly as two girls played happily, one of them shooting snow out of their hands. Her head cocked to the side and her eyebrows furrowed. She'd seen the advert for this... What was it? Ice? Snow...? No-

"OH MY GOD! FROZEN!" Cat yelped, then, ignoring the reprimanding "shh" from a disapproving audience, she turned to Robbie. "Thanks... How did you know I wanted to see this?"

"I've known you two years, Caterina," Robbie replied, the corners of his mouth forming a mischievous smile.

"Then you'd know that only my grandma calls me Caterina," complained Cat, who had a strong dislike of her name.

"Yeah, but you're funny when you're angry."

"Well, I'm about to get pretty damn hilarious."

Cat giggled with Robbie, thankful for the pitch black surroundings. Her cheeks were rapidly getting warmer, and red hair and a bright red face didn't go well. They fell silent and continued watching the movie. About ten minutes in, Robbie reached forward and grasped Cat's hand. Cat squeezed it gratefully. She was taken in by the sweetness of Frozen. It had been the perfect choice.

The credits rolled. Cat was bawling her eyes out at the final scene, but had promptly recovered. She hummed 'Let It Go' as she waited impatiently for Robbie to get up. He wandered over, and Cat quickly grabbed his hand and led him out. He seemed to be in a bit of a daze, so Cat snapped her fingers in front of his face.

"Robbie? Robbie? ROBBIE?!"

He blinked, then looked wildly all about him. Then something seemed to click, and he grinned sheepishly. "Sorry about that. What do you say to McDonalds before we go home?"

"Sounds great!" Cat beamed, and they headed to the McDonalds just a little way away from VUE. As they reached the entrance, Cat's stomach became a little tight. Here was where Beck and Jade broke up. What if...?

Cat shook her head violently to get rid of these thoughts. She followed Robbie to a table, and he went to order. French fries were delicious. Robbie returned with their food and they sat munching, chatting about anything that popped into their heads.

"I got Rex when I was like, three. I could make him talk when I was four. As I got older, it's like it's not me... Like he's his own person." Robbie reminisced, smiling slightly.

"Aw, that's so sweet! I got Mr Purple when-" Cat broke off, mentally slapping herself. When her parents had left her. When they'd took her to ToysRus to try and take her mind off it. A pity present. But she couldn't tell Robbie that. Her childhood was a place she didn't like and didn't want to return to.

Robbie tactfully changed the subject, but Cat could see a little doubt in his eyes. Just great.

Once they'd finished their food, Robbie drove her home, but the little conversation made was stilted, forced. It didn't seem right. It's all my stupid fault, talking about Mr Purple, Cat thought miserably. Once they arrived at her house, her parents had gone out. Robbie offered to sit in with her until they got back, and Cat agreed, not wanting to face the silence of her house alone.

But when she looked back, maybe the silence would have been better than the small talk being made. Maybe Robbie was hurt that Cat seemed to be hiding something from him, since his answers were one word, two words at the maximum. As they sat watching meaningless reality TV, something seemed to snap. He tilted Cat's chin up gently, until their noses were practically touching. He leaned forward-

But Cat pulled away. She didn't know why. She wanted to, but something just seemed... Wrong. Like it was a bad time. But now Robbie was humiliated, and that was like a knife in her heart.

"I need to go get some air," Robbie muttered, turning to the door. His face was slightly crimson, a clear sign of embarrassment.

"There's air in here!" Cat said quickly. Don't leave, she begged inwardly.

"I don't want your air!" His hand was brushing against the doorknob.

"What's wrong with my air?" Cat called, but at the word 'my', Robbie had walked out. Cat walked to the window and watched Robbie's car pull out of the driveway and rumble away.

How did such a perfect day go so wrong?
