Jason lifted the cigarette to his lips as he glanced down from the roof, searching through the sea of students leaving the university. His eyes finally spotted a h/c head walking towards a car.
Smirking, he flicked away his blunt and jumped down and slid into the passenger seat, scaring tinge shit out of Y/N.
"Jesus Christ!" She cursed, putting her hand over her heart as she breathed heavily.
"Hey, loser." He said, lazily.
"Dude," her look said she wanted to strangle him. "What the fu—"
"Hey!" Jason cut off. "No cussing."
"Oh fuck you, Jason." She said, rolling her eyes before fishing out the keys from her hoodie pocket.
"That's the plan, baby." Jason winked at her.
She snorted, turning the keys to start the engine. Nearly killing 5 students, she rolled out of the parking lot.
"You're a horrible driver." He noted as she grumbled a couple curse words.
"Shut the fuck up." She replied back.
Jason rolled down the window, letting in the cool breeze rip past him. The traffic outside was bad but Y/N took the carpool lane so it was easier.
"Where to?" He asked.
"Well I'm driving you home." She clarified. "Then I'm going home."
"Aw, can't we have some fun?" He asked.
She snorted again. "Like what?"
"Like a movie?" He suggested. "I heard the new Marvel movie is good."
"Already watched it." She said.
He raised a eyebrow. "With who?"
"This guy who asked me out." She said.
Jason felt a twinge of jealousy and studied her face for any emotion but all he found was annoyance for the person who didn't signal in front of her.
"How was the date?" He asked, casually.
"It was okay." Y/N shrugged.
He glanced at her face again. And she again showed no emotional attachment to the 'guy'. His mind desperately try to calculate what she was thinking.
"So you and him a thing?" He asked.
"No, my friend likes him so I convinced him to go and see her." She smiled, meeting his eyes. It was the first sign of happiness he saw from her today. "Matchmaker Y/N." she said, proudly.
"That's nice." He nodded. Jason could feel his heart and his brain filled with relief.
His eyes swerved over his surrounding and realized that they were close to the mansion. Before he knew it, she pulled into the long entrance way to the mansion. The black gates opened and let the small car through.
Stopping at the front, she unlocked the door.
"Well, here's your stop." Y/N said.
He frantically searched for ideas to make her stay. Jason had plans and they weren't for her to leave so quickly.
"Hey, come inside." He quickly said.
"Why?" She asked, narrowing her eyes suspiciously.
"I want to show you something." He said, opening the door and walking over to her door before opening.
"Why?" She asked again.
He rolled his eyes. "Just come on."
"But it's getting late and I need to study." She argued.
Jason ignored her, closing the car door behind her. The large front doors opened and Jason could hear Alfred said a greeting from somewhere in the house.
"Hey, Alfred." Y/N called, while being dragged by Jason upstairs.
"Dude, where are we going?" She asked.
"Up." Was all Jason said.
When he finally dragged her up all the way to roof, the sun was already starting to set. The cold winter air brushed around them.
Stars started to appear behind them as the dark midnight blue sky invaded the brilliant orange and crimson explosion. Specks of whole clouds circled above them as she looked up.
Pulling out her phone, she snapped a picture before a soft smile made a way on her face. Jason, who already saw this billions of times, he watched her facial expressions shift from amazement to fascination.
He brought her the edge of the roof. She raised her eyebrow.
"Is this where you push me off o my death?" She joked.
He chuckled. "No, idiot. You sit."
Their legs swing over the ledge, feeling the cold air find its way in their clothes, sending goosebumps on their skin.
"This is nice." She said.
"I know."
A silence surrounded hen as they admired the sky and the city, Gotham, in the distance and the traffic.
He smoothly slid closer to her as she looked away.
When she looked back at him? Her face was centimeters away from her.
He inspected her e/c orbs. He could count her lashes as he stared at her, mesmerized. This is it, he thought, what you planned this whole time Jas.
She laughed, nervously, trying to lean away but his arms wrapped around her waist, gently pulling her in for a kiss.
Her soft lips touched his. He could feel his brain numbing and his nerves tingling.
Her arm wrapped around his neck while the other raked it's fingers through his dark hair. She pushed away the white streak.
He pressed himself closer, pulling her deeper into the kiss.
When they pulled away, they were softly panting for their breath.
"Um, wow." She said, raising her eyebrows slightly before laughing awkwardly. But she didn't side away.
"That was nice." He complimented, smiling.
"Thanks?" She said, moving away nervously. Her body scrambled to get up.
Jason, alarmed, got up too.
"Wait, where are you going?" He asked
"Well, I thought— the kiss—we're friends—is going to leave." She sputtered out.
"What?" He frowned at the word, friends. "Friends?"
"Well, —uh— we are friends." She explained. Her face was panicking, digging herself a deeper hole.
"Do—wha— was that kiss just for friends?" He asked, getting frustrated.
"Um... no?" She answered, meekly.
"Do you want to be friends?"
A deafening silence choked them. Her mouth was open, struggling for a answer as Jason waited for a reply.
"Not really." She whispered.
Jason felt his body overcome with relief.
"Good, because it would be really awkward." He smiled at her.
"So this means—" she asked.
"Yeah, dumbass," he walked closer to her before taking her hands. "I hope you like the word boyfriend for me, girlfriend."
Her face was shocked at first before looming back up and smiling a little.
"Damn, you were smooth." She said, appreciatively.
He stuck out his chest, proudly. "I know right."
